Glock g48

I’ve been a Glock fan for a long time, but double stacks just don’t fit my hand. This new G48 is everything I want in a Glock except for the slide colour.

Any pics of it with the night sights?

Taken at range day so hopefully gives idea in natural light

Did you try it with the standard night sights? Do you think the ameriglos are worth the premium over them?

Cheers

I did. They had several set ups there. It was blowing hard while I was at the Glock lanes. Hard to picture unless you’ve been in a desert with sand blowing everywhere and having a half lb of sand in the shower floor after leaving the range but the factory original were plenty acceptable especially for the brightness of the day. Shooting indoor in a less lit shooting lane I could see benefit of upgrade but likely find the factory sights are more than usable.

Has the glock made a final decision on the finish?

Yes. It's the banner on their website: <https://us.glock.com/>

There's more here: <https://us.glock.com/en/a-perfect-fit>

And even more here: <https://us.glock.com/Products/g48_silver_slide>

The G48 in caliber 9mm Luger is of similar length and height as the G19 but the width of the pistol is reduced for increased concealability and high carrying comfort. The magazine capacity of the slim 01 magazine of the G48 is 10 rounds. It comes with a silver colored nPVD coated slide with front serrations.

The initial run will be the silver nPVD finish. I don't see why they wouldn't offer it in the classic black in the future.

Personally, lookong forward to the silver slide, I think it looks sharp.

The word from the inside is that they will not be offering a black slide in the future. Silver/grey or get it cerakoted.

I would love to see a picture of the Canadian version when they get here. If it doesn't look too bad I intend to sell my Glock 17 and buy one.

I specifically asked if they planned on doing a classic black finish. The people at the Glock booth said definitely not this year buuuut hey we are Glock don’t discount it happening in the following year. I have to admit I agree I actually think it looks nice with the silver finish. I’ve got a pile of photos to go through yet but pretty sure I took some specifically of the new model beside the old for comparison. Kind of funny but I was really hoping they would have had a run of the Glock keychains with the silver slides.
