Anybody have 5000 + rounds through WK180 yet?

I would love to see pics of inside the receiver after 10000 rounds. Mine is really chewed up and I am almost to 1000. I suspect my upper will last around 5000 before the receiver gives me issues. I have RWA upper on the way so I think I will run that.
I havnt seen any posts that suggest the wearing of the wk180 receiver will be addressed, so it seems like we run it till it breaks and then send it to Kodiac for a new receiver.
It's the charging handle that is the issue. It comes loose during firing and really bangs up the internal guide rail on the inside of the receiver. As long as Kodiac can supply new receivers when we need them I guess most guys will not care.

200 rounds and my bolt is broken. I was having issues the other day feeding and thought it was ammo related but my bolt must have been cracked and today she let go. I wonder if this bolt is proprietary or will an standard ar15 bolt work? I havent taken it appart to see yet

Similar to an ar15 bolt except the cam pin hole is in a different location. Therefore not interchangeable.

EDIT: oops, I didn't notice you already found your answer.

Im somehow not surprised. Materials used on multiple internal parts seem to be low quality untreated steel or poorly treated

After 10,000 rounds their would be no receiver left!!!!!!, from what I've seen with these

I have had lenghty email and phone discussions with Kodiak, they claim this was normal wear and tear, after only 100 rounds I call B.S.

These Will be scrap metal at the 3500 to 5000 round mark

I'll let Travis Bickle take from here:nest:

Mine has some finish wear but nothing like that. Over All its a great shooter and if i get a new bolt soon ill be happy. I hope i just got unlucky and a defective part if not someone can make some good money manufacturing quality bolts.

I should add that I'm around the 1000 round mark +or- a few with one of mine (which really isn't that much) and the only thing of concern is the firing pin hole in the bolt face is starting to oval slightly. So far it's not to the point where this is causing issue BUT I suspect that the bolt will need replacing LONG before it should.

The inside of the receiver is showing a slight amount of wear from the charging handle but nothing that warrants any concern. Mine looks like it's going to go for a long time before it wears out, IF it ever does.

For the price I'm satisfied with mine BUT dolar for dollar,I have no doubt that your average $1100 AR-15 is going to FAR outlast your $1100 WK. If it weren't for the WK's NR status it would be a no brainer to simply get the AR-15 instead.

If the product is supported and a few replacement parts are available for years to come I don't have a problem with it.

If other people are having their receivers wear out to the point that it causes issues with function then the product definitely needs some re engineering.

How long these will last is still an unknown. It seems that some people are having better luck than others.

I am at around 500 on my WK180. Same issue with the charging handle coming loose and damaging the receiver as well.
Contacted Kodiak but was told that's normal wear.
It will be on EE soon!

Closing in on 500 rds with mine and not a mark on the inside of my receiver from the charging handle. Mine is a later model and apparently they changed the size of the magnet that holds the charging handle in the bolt carrier. Mine does not rattle and has minimal wiggle.
