What is the best recoil and hammer spring combination for a shadow2?

My GF is taking the BB course this weekend and the stock configuration is a bit heavy.

From what I researched for now is a 11# recoil spring spring and a 13# hammer spring.

Any input is appreciated

Factory ammo or reloads at 125-130PF? 11# recoil and a 13# main works well. I've run mine with stock FP spring using CCI primers and didn't have light strikes. Right now I'm running 8# recoil spring with 147gr reloads at 129PF along with a 10# mainspring with a reduced power FP spring. My FP and FP channel have been lightly polished as well. DA pull is approx 6.75lbs with a 1.75# SA. After approx 800rnds later, I'm getting 100% ignition on CCI primers. Shoots nice and flat.

pit in a 10# recoil and a 3# main. worked flawless with the 147s

just now need to lighten up the DA for her just a bit, SA is good

You can do a full strip and polish job on the contact points. You can also drop down to a 10# or even 9# mainspring but you may need to switch to an extended firing pin along with a reduced power FP spring. Make sure your primers are seated fully. Switch to a wide competition hammer helps too.

You can also switch to a reduced power sear and trigger return springs.

thin aluminium grips, lighter springs - 13# main, 11# recoil to be run with 124 gr CCI Blazer.
race hammer + short reset disconnector.

When I installed the new disco, double taps became scary easy. I sent a lot of lead down range until I felt confident and safe before shooting it in matches.

With the 13# main your SA usually drops to around 4# but it’s very smooth after many rounds (1000+) Could put in an 11# main to reduce that DA down from 7# to 6#

Well, that's what I thought: too light and fast trigger might not be the best thing for a beginner

Just curious what kind of splits you could do with this new disconnector as the stock one I can run an easy .18 split on my double drills.

I agree with some of the above; no fast triggers for a beginner. You're going too far too quick. Let her get used to the stock gun before making mods. What feels heavy today won't feel that way after a bit of practice. Additionally, if the gun is new it'll work itself in over time.

Is that with the new disconnector? If so, what is your time with the old one if you know?
Yes, the new disco. Never had anything that fast with the old disco. Upper teens, sure, even .16 here and there, but never near .10.

With the Shadow, the 13# mainspring is the right thing to do at the start, for many, many, many people. I wish the gun came with it to begin with.

Thanks for the info on the disco!
