The "best" Browning

Heavier guns are easier to shoot. It's funny to me that what's a good weight for a field shotgun is too heavy for a rifle.

I used it for mule deer hunting when I was younger. Walking through the river hills 10-15 km’s a day with a 10+ lb rifle wears a guy out!

I have had both A bolts and X bolts, A Bolts in 270wsm, 300WM, 30 06 and 270, X Bolts in 270wsm and 375 H&H, I didn't mind the mag system on either but prefer a hinged floor plate, I don't like the original stock on either, I still have one X Bolt, all the ones I had were accurate, the X Bolt was an acquired taste, they are both down the list a bit from my favorites, I prefer both over Tikkas but not as much as Sako [A7 or 85], I prefer Winchester 70s or a Ruger over Browning. My remaining X Bolt is a 375 H&H and I don't mind the recoil and I sure like carrying it.

My nearly 30 year old Abolt in 7 Rem Mag is the best for me. The polished bolt handle is representitive of how much I've enjoyed shooting this over the years

I currently have 2 A bolts. A left handed stainless/synthetic A-Bolt 1 in .280 and a left hamded A-Bolt Micro 2 in .22 hornet. Once I learned how to hunt on foot and stop driving so much, having the removable hinged mag made a lot more sense.

i owned two x bolts. one in a 280 and the other a 300wm. they both shot well. i was quite suprised that the 300wm did not kick a whole lot. they have a great recoil pad

My BIL has an xbolt stainless stalker in .308 that he swears by. He takes a lot of game with it and has never failed him. I just can't warm up to the look of it but it sure shoots lights out.

I have a BLR, BPR, BAR and X-Bolt. Like them all, they will all shoot better than I can aim, and each is a nice rifle in it's own right imho. I am extra fond of my X-Bolt because I virtually live with it every day. It is parked in the corner when I am in the house, it is on my tractor or atv or truck when I am in them, and is on my shoulder when I walk my land. It is light, easy to carry and soaks up the abuse that I give it. It clover leafed right out of the box and hasn't changed in the 4 years that I have owned it.

I own an entire list of other manufacturers rifles and do not dislike any of them. But I do like my Browning rifles.

I've gotten a lot of flak lately from buddies over this but.... I can't be the only one that doesn't like the X-Bolt! Are they a "decent" gun? I guess so. Are they, "tack driving, shoot the wings off a fly at 1000 yards" great, like a lot of guys think they are? Absolutely not. I feel like Browning slacked in quality after their original A-Bolt and A-Bolt 2 design. Not that the original A-Bolts were flawless, but to me, they seemed stronger, better built and could take more abuse. I can't be the only one who thinks this!

What do you think is the "best" Browning?

Browning Safari Grade and the B-bolt.

best browning so far, the ones based on mauser 98 action ...

Yes the FN98 Safari or Sako Browning were in a class by above the rest , but they were old school classic wooden stock deep blued steel . Just don't get that same feeling with the newer plastic stocked ones IMHO .
