canpro .308 147 grain

Has anyone tried loading 30-06 with Campro .308 147 grain bullets ..
I use IMR 3031 .. 43 to 47 grains .. got ####ty results 3 to 5 inch groups

I shot the same powder loads with a 150 grain Hornady bulk bullet and got 1 inch groups
I shot these right after campro 's

any ideas

campro is fine for pistol, not for rifle.

I have only loaded them for my garand. Wasn't really caring about accuracy though, more for soft shooting rounds to keep the gun safe. Was able to hit 2 litre milk jugs at 200 yards pretty consistently so good for me.

And load them for 308 as plinking ammo, nothing tk write home about groups, but again.. Plinking ammo.

I also use those bullets in 30 06 with 45 gr. 30 31. They shoot ok,2” or so although I don’t shoot them for group except to check the scope setting. Sorry, no ideas

2-3 MOA groups is the norm for them, i can get that down to half in a custom barrel. for the price though, you can't go wrong. try something more H4350 like in the odd six with them, 3031 worked good for me with the 168s but the lighter bullets liked something a little slower, even H4895 would be a better powder

I find that the equivalent Hornady bullets are more accurate and are only a bit more expensive in bulk.

For me in my .308, I find the only consistency over different powders and rifles is that they are inconsistent!

My first time reloading was with those canpro 308 bullets I loaded 40 grains of varget reloaded in Hirt brass with federal primers and they tumbled and key holed at 25 yards.... need more powder behind it I guess lol

Can pro 223 and 308 bullets are just rebranded IVI general dynamics bullets.

What were you expecting from the cheapest bullet on the market? They are good for man sized target, not precision shooting.

Same as above, just use them with the M1 (30-06) never properly accuracy tested them, but they consistently hit a 10x10 gong @ 200m. Main use for them is for newbies and plinking ammo, just to scratch the itch cheap

Pushed by 47 gr IMR 4895, new barrel seems to like that load no matter the temp outside
