I want a super accurate and fun to shoot 45 ACP.

I allready have one but it is a S&W 4506-1 it's poor trigger leaves a little to be desired when it comes to nice tight groups.

My limit to spend is around the $1500 mark.

Any other suggestions.

With 1500$ man, any one of those brands will give you a sweet .45! I selected D-Lask just because I heard many good things + they are Canadian so the service ( if any ) would be awsome. But seriously, at 1500$ anyone of the .45 from those companies will be beauties. It would really come down to which model looks the ###iest to you, ie: grips, finish, sights, etc.. I wish i was in your shoes :D.

Make sure you let us know which brand and model you end up with!

i have had great luck with Paras, Kimbers, and Springers. With this in mind, try a D-Lask, S&W, or STI; then file a range report. Lastly, my Dan Wesson 10mm is one awesome handgun and it deserves consideration. Regards, Richard:D

I have the Pare SSP and can't say enough good things about the gun. Very accurate and well priced. Dlask would also get me nod.

Take Care

The advantage to Para is the Canadian apsect for service if needed as is the case with Dlask. I had a Kimber TLE II and it worked flawlessly and that woudl be my personal chice if I bought another 1911 but I do not think you would go wrong with any of the mentioned, just look at the options you want and see which one suits you best.

"...Any other suggestions..." Um, Colt. Try and find a Series 70. Do the trigger and sights if it hasn't already been done. All the rest are imitations.

I have a Kimber Gold Match 1911. It is very accurate. However, I am able to shoot tighter groups with a friends STI Trojan; as such my vote goes with STI

I'd go Dlask just because for the price it is going to get a lot more special care & attention than a mass produced pistol. Jo is a good guy and will ensure everything is top notch. With any of the others, there's a chance that something is "not right" on it (for the price - $1500 is the entry point for a lot of these pistols (in Canada)).

Good luck!

My Colt LW commander ratlles ... what a piece of junk . I have a TRP full rail on order but that s way over ur price range so I recommend an STI .

I have had a Kimber Custom 2 for about a year or so and love it. Very accurate, solid and good looking pistol. Kimber also sells all kinds of accessories on their website and I have never had any trouble having them shipped to me. I have bought grips ect. Hope that helps.

Dlask! Dlask! Dlask!

Fell in love with it after the first 10 rounds. Tack driver? Absolutely. Very ###y look from the grips to the really nice finish, not to mention the slide to frame fit. No creep on the trigger, great internal parts, Briley Match barrel, wonderful sight picture with the Aristocrat sight and Joe Dlask's specialty - precision machining and the feel only a true-blue custom job can give you. I've shot other 1911's, including an STI (which I really loved) but the Dlask is a hands down winner in my book.

And no... I don't work for Joe Dlask, nor do I get a rate on my next gun purchase. Tough not to be enthusiastic when this kind of craftsmanship is available in Canada.

Have a look at www.dlaskarms.com for more info.

I also have a Kimber Custom Eclipse II. It is deadly accurate and fun to shoot. Also looks super sweet, with its gray laminate grips and stainless steel body.
