Had my new to me S&W MP9 2.0 out to the range today for the first time. While I really enjoyed it, I did find the factory magazines to be crap. They are extremely difficult to load. Just wondering whether there is a loading tool available for these, or a better option for mags, or a way to make these work better? The springs seem overly strong right out of the box.
Help, suggestions?

There are a few solutions you may want to consider.

You could sand down the legs on the followers so the 10th round is easier to load, a couple of millimetres is all it takes. There was a thread on this a while back.

The next item is the Uplula loader as BooSSted mentioned, they are the cats ass for quick painless loading, I have a couple of them.

M&P mags are a ##### to load, use an Upula and leave them loaded while at home to break in the spring. Worst case, snip a coil off the spring, had to do that with one of the wife's mags, just wasn't breaking in even after being left loaded for a long time

I had the same problem when I got my S&W M&P. The spring in the crippled magazines is the same as the full length magazines so they start out under pressure (I have the ones that came with it and the purchased one that is normal length and pinned). I had to file down the followers to get the 10th round in and I left the magazines loaded when not in use to work in the springs. I've had mine for just over a year and still need to use the mag loader but it's a lot easier now. Filing the legs on the followers only helped with getting the 10th round in and didn't help get the rounds in.

FWIW, keeping a mag fully loaded does nothing to ease the spring tension, there are many threads and youboob vids on the subject. Springs get worn buy repeated load unload cycles not constant load pressure.

Vote #5 or #6 for the uplula. I have the full m&p line and it works on all of them. Mine is flouescent yellow too. I can't lose it. I doesn't matter how stiff they are with the uplula. They are only $40 on Tenda's site right now

Or you could just stop being a pussy and load them with your hands like every other man does.

As it was mentioned above there are two issues. First is spring from full size magazine, clip 2 coils. Second is follower need to be shortened to make it 10.5 rounds mags. Can't believe S&W missed those small but very annoying things.
P.s. Uplula is a must these days, regardles.

I've filed the followers on my mags and they now fit 10 rounds, but just barely. If I ever need to reload my mags in an emergency and I don't have my maglula, I'm dead.

I never felt like I needed an Uplula....... until I bought an M&P, that is. Those M&P mags are the hardest ones to load that I've ever encountered, and the Uplula makes all the difference.

Trimming the follower makes it easier to both load that tenth round and insert a full magazine with the slide forward. Cutting a coil or two is likely fine, given how heavy the magazine springs are. I wonder if they are the same springs used in the standard capacity magazines.

The Uplula tool is indeed a must for M&P magazines; they're almost as difficult to load as Sten gun magazines.

The shape of the MP( mag follower makes it difficult to load the first round. After that it loads like any other mag, until you get to 9 and 10. Then it is very stiff.

Take the mag apart. You will see that the follower has 4 legs on the bottom. File 1/10" of an inch, or a bit more, off of each leg. This will make #10 easier to load.

There is no easy way to load round #1. I much prefer to use an Uplula to load these mags.

This ^

You need to file the legs on the follower down.
Did that with both of mine and the 10th round goes in with ease without allowing an 11th round.
