I'm looking for a PCC in 9mm that is very reliable and that you can get spare parts for (sorry H&K). Something along the lines of your most trusted 1911, Glock, or AR15 but in a PCC.

I'd like to hear what you guys have that you would recommend, based on experience of using them. And what pluses/minuses you would give them based on mag(Glock, Beretta etc being a plus) ease of procurement, how easy to get spare parts, Ambi friendly and anything else that you consider about them.

I'm not concerned about restricted vs non-restricted.

I have owned a couple different ones but ended up selling them for various reasons.
Beretta CX4
BRS-99

I'm looking for some real world experience with them, not so much Internet armchair general speculation based off the latest video game.

Had a Thureon. Fun gun. Would i trust my life to it?

No.

Is NR a requirement?

If not, a good AR 9mm, or quite frankly a Glock in a CAA chassis. Hard to get more reliable than those. I would bet my life on either... properly vetted like every individual gun should be.

I really like my TNW Aero. Handy little carbine, decent accuracy, functions nicely. But I can't recommend it in terms of parts availability. When I wanted a second barrel it was down to one Canadian supplier and the cost was about double what Americans pay direct from the manufacturer. That's a pretty basic part. As for stuff like firing line or trigger group stuff, there seems to be no Canadian source. I tried asking TNW about a barrel but they never responded to my email, so it seems doubtful they'd be useful in procuring replacement parts. Not a positive for your list, but useful perhaps as something to cross off. Still, great little carbine. If something ever breaks I'll just have to make replacement parts.

I have a Sub 2000 gen 2 that has over 2500 rounds through it with out a single issue of ANY KIND, and it folds in half and fits in a backpack.

Id have to suggest the Beretta CX4 or maybe the CZ Scorpion EVO. Those are both highly reviewed and highly recommended PCCs. I dont believe i have ever heard someone complain about their CX4 not cycling.

My TNW ASR in 9mm despite being advertised as a "survival rifle" is currently THEE MOST UNRELIABLE gun i own. It literally jams every mag! Cant recommend it.

My Just Right Carbine in 9mm has demonstrated excellent reliability maybe 8 jams in 1000. But unfortunately kindov like the ASR (but not nearly as bad) others have had issues with their Just Right Carbines. Especially ones chambered in calibers other then 9mm.

My buddys Gen2 Sub 2000 in 9mm was also super reliable.

TNW ASR....no issues getting parts through Shooters Direct. Rifle is stupid simple and well built. The match grade trigger option is a must buy. Mine is a 10 mm Auto but I don't see the 9mm being any different.

I'm not sure about 'battle type use', but if for some reason North Korea decided to invade my backyard, and all I had on deck was 9mm....

I would cut a length of hockey stick about a foot long, then attach a glock 17 and my Makita impact driver to it. As long as the trigger actuator was tight, it should be able to spit out 9mm as fast and reliable as an A-10's BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT gun.

IMo, that would be the most 'battleworthy' you're gonna get out of a 9mm, short of an mp-5.

Ha! I would feed that thing happy sticks, until Kim went home. :)

I like my JR. So far no malfunctions but it's pretty heavy and the ergos, while fine for me, might leave something to be desired if you had to depend on it for safety/ survival.

I tried an fx 9 last trip to the range. Much lighter, better controls, but I don't know about reliability/ parts availability.

Since no one has mentioned the Ruger Pc carbine I will. I ordered one but still in the mail, I've heard good things about it. Looks a lot like a more beefy 10/22 tack down. It also can take either Ruger pistol magazines or Glock magazines.

Another vote for the gen 2 sub 2000. I have one in 9mm with about 1500+ rounds through it. I have only had 2 failures and both were with cheap as can be steel case ammo in the same day, brass case it’s 100%. Great upgrades available (I have almost every one from Mcarbo installed in mine). It folds in half and fits anywhere, takes glock mags and is NR. It comes with a plastic trigger which really feels cheap but once you upgrade a few parts it is a real nice firearm to use. Even dirty as can be with cheap ammo it still just chews through it all no problem.

CZ Scorpion Evo, Non-Restricted. I’ll take battle-type use as meaning “How does it handle in a hunting situation?” I carried my scorpion on a couple of hunts. While walking a cpl miles in the pasture/bush with it, you sure appreciate how light it is. I have a single point sling and love how the stock folds down, making it easier to carry. I have a Vortex Viper reddot on it that co-witnesses perfectly with the iron sights, making anything within 50 yards a easy target. The only drawback is that the mags are pinned to 5, but the mags are cheap, so there is a work around.

This for the win, by a mile!

I picked mine up for $800 tax in at the Bass Pro Black Friday sale last year. Several hundred rounds through it so far without a single malfunction. All kinds of accessories coming out for them as well and they are much more reasonably priced than the majority of PCCs. Perhaps not as 'assaulty' looking a some of the others but as long as they hold up mechanically over time they are going to be hard to beat.

My thoughts on "battle type use" was something that you know you could rely on. Something like UZI's and MP5's have been for decades.

My BRS is prob close to that but I didn't have one with the optic rail and canted stock so you couldn't get a decent cheekweld with it.

Of the current guns available to us. The FX9, TNW, Sub 2000 etc seem to be more fun, plinking rifles rather than a hell and back rifle.

From all your suggestions so far. The CZ Scorpion and the X95 look to be the best to me. The CZ can be used as a LH shooter. And I presume the X95 can be made completely LH like the 5.56 version?

The idea of a Glock chassis I like but I'm wanting a dedicated 9mm rifle.

One thing I'd like to know is the accuracy of the X95? I presume the CZ is pretty good in that dept from owning lots of CZ firearms personally.

I have never looked into a 9mm AR though, are they as reliable as a 5.56 AR?
