Hey guys, I have been working on a load with my friend for his A-bolt. We are having some trouble getting good accuracy from H1000 and 160 Nosler AB's. Factory 160 AB's shot MOA at 100.
I have RL 22 here for him to try. What powders are you having the best luck with in that bullet weight? I see IMR 7828, RL 26 maybe. Something that is not temp sensitive.
It reminds me of when my 270 just did not like H4831, but RL22 was and is great in it with 130gr bullets.

H1000 should work?

Did you try different seating depths?

Top choice for me in past for top velocity was Retumbo.

H1000 worked well for me with 160 AB and 168 VLD....usually just .005 off lands.

My choices would be.

H1000, Retumbo, H4831SC.

Just thinking out loud here, could you try a grain or two below minimum, just for poops and giggles, see if there are nodes lower down, also, if you have some 140's try em out just to see.

I load 160AB in a friends 7mm Rem Mag, RL26 works fantastic. 3035 fps and last two groups I shot with it before handing it over to him, 0.4 & 0.6moa @ 398 yards

Thanks so far guys. Yes the H1000 just is not happy, did a seating depth test just yesterday. We are going to go over his reloading procedures with the components he has one more time. Then it’s new powder time.
Todd, what was the powder charge you used? Must have been near the top.

In my son's 70 classic 26" barrel neither 4831's were anything to write home about so I went with Ken Waters Pet loads manual's recommendation as second most accurate load tested.Over the years I saved a bunch of time and components following his lead.He knew his stuff.
