Thinking about a 300 WM x bolt stainless Stalker, but have read about issues with magazines that fail to feed properly, was this an early issue problem, that’s been improved upon? Any feedback on these rifles would be appreciated.

I bought one, love it. Bought a spare mag for it.
So I bought another. Love it too. Bought a spare mag for it as well, different size action.
The 4 mags I have feed perfectly.

My son uses a new micro composite model (20” bbl, shorter LOP) in .308. It has been stellar. 1/2” groups
Absolutely no mag issues with the 2 he uses. Flush fit is a nice feature. Highly recommend

I had a western hunter x bolt in 270 win and it fed just fine. I actually really like the x bolt mags despite my dislike for polymer magazines (subjective dislike, usually). I liked the magazines so much I put together a 308 that used x bolt mags. They both fed fine, stayed put in the rifle, came out with ease, could be too loaded through the action and we're decently long to allow for seating bullets further out than other mags which, if you're a reloader you will very much appreciate.

The rifle itself was awesome, light, accurate, smooth, effectively a 3 position safety and a 60° bolt through. I actually like a tang safety too. I'd buy another for sure.

I rebarrelled a lh All Weather from 7mm-08 to 6.5 Creedmoor after Browning sent me a letter stating that they were not going to chamber their lh All Weather rifles in that cartridge (ordered it as soon as they announced it). Bought an extra magazine for it. Excellent rifle! Producing 1/2 MOA accuracy with factory ammo @ 100 yards so far and 3" groups @ 400 yards. Nice trigger too.
Magazines work fine, even with the longer bullets such as the ELD-X.
May get another lh X Bolt in 270 WSM to rebarrel to the 6.5 PRC.

I find it hard to believe that someone would complain about x bolt feeding issues. Anyone who has ever owned and used one will tell you one of the rifles best feature is how smooth the mag feeds a round along with the 60 degree bolt throw. I have x bolts in both 308 and 223 and they both feed buttery smooth.

I have owned 2 xbolts purchased new, both of which had mags that failed to feed. I bought a new mag, and it also failed to feed. 3 mags, all purchased brand new, all are inoperable.

Just curious as I have only heard this recently, is this a recent problem or an old one that I have missed?

The mag that came with the Micro Midas 7-08 I bought for my boy works great. The spare mag I bought is crap and won't feed the second round from right out of the package. I do really like the rifle but the mag thing bothers me when you pay 60 bucks for crap and now I'm worried about buying another one in case it's a dud as well.

I bought a X-Bolt in 308 Winchester a couple of years ago and have had problems with feeding from the magazine numerous times. If I use a full magazine (4 rounds), the second cartridge often does not get picked-up after the first cartridge is fired. It seems like the cartridges in the magazine are sliding forward under recoil, then the shoulder gets slightly stuck in the feed lips of the magazine with the head of the case remaining slightly lower than the bullet end of the cartridge. When this situation occurs the bolt slides over the head and the cartridge is not pushed forward into the chamber. in addition, the magazine does not fully seat if you try to install it with the bolt closed. It will only fully seat (properly latch) if the bolt is open. I have searched the internet a few times looking for a fix and noticed others have had this same problem. I have not seen any clear advice on how to fix this issue. I have lost confidence in this rifle.
