Is it just me or do other people notice a lot of 28 Nosler for sale used. Is there something wrong with this caliber. I know that the 6.5 300 Weatherby is a total piece of garbage and I’m pretty sure the 26 nosler is as well. But I thought the 28 was a shooter?

What is the garbage part of the 6.5 bee? I am pretty happy with mine, but, I just bought a 28 nosler too!

Magnums in general have fallen into disfavor, especially the recent trendy ones.

So, how many of the 28 Noslers are littering the pages in the EE ?
Hard numbers are needed.

I had an Xbolt Hells Canyon LR 28 Nosler this past summer, shot a hundred rounds out of it. This is a cartridge I can like, with the heavy 7mm bullets out there. 175gr ELDx, 180gr Bergers are missiles.
 
I think a lot of the reason guys try out the latest super long range magnums and then have them up for sale shortly after is for most hunting scenarios these guns are to heavy and have to much scope on them.

For a specific purpose they work very good but that specific purpose really only encompasses a very small portion of general hunting situations.

That being said I know I'm guilty of having the magnum long range bug...last year I got a 30 Nosler, this year I got a 300 PRC.

I've also got a few 300 WM's and a few 300WSM's, and some 7MM mags. As it stands, if I'm being honest with myself my best all purpose hunting rifles are chambered in 7mm-08 and 280 AI both which are super light Kimbers with 3-9x40ish optics.

Only My Humble Opinion though....:)
 
They're all garbage, except 338WM and several other larger calibers......lol
A guy at a LGS said the 7mm rem mag was terrible! WTF?!?! Guess he got triggered when I told him that mine likes all kinds of different factory loads.
It sometimes seems like when a certain caliber sells, suddenly there's a bunch more for sale, the new "hot" item....I don't know.

I think you said it right, " you expect more out of a GUN". I would bet that if that rifle was shooting as you say the cartridge was NOT the issue. That would mean that no rifle shooting that cartridge would be capable of shooting better than minute of pie plate.

True enough but of the six that I know of they all are terrible and Weatherby took all of them back.

Its kinda like Weatherby....didn't really do much more.....but marketing.

How dead is dead....and does the animal really know the difference?

Remember Lazeroni? Dakota?

The 7mm Rem Mag has taken all comers and is still the most popular 7mm Mag.

7mm Rem is my favorite too, personally I like traditional belted mags over the non-belted/short/super short/ultra mags, I don't see the appeal of the same velocity but "no belt" just to empty your wallet faster.
Weatherby does have a few solid cartridges in the lineup, 257 and 300 are excellent, and they have a good large bore magnum selection if you are heading to Africa lol.
The 270 and 7mm Bee's are kind of pointless for sure.
One guy in our crew is real hard for the 300 Win, and he is a lucky bastard that always tags out, but I don't think he's shot a moose or deer in his life that was over 50 yards away...a 30-30 would have done the same job lol.
