I hunted Saskatchewan deer for years with a No.1 in 7x57. Stupidly, sold it once I got a little Husqvarna 4100 in 7x57. Have since bought a No.1 chambered in "275 Rigby" - the 2" longer barrel has got to make it better, right?? - edging into 22" 280 Remington performance levels? However, turns out I still can not get my fat face down enough on the comb to be able to use the cool looking iron sights, and, at least for now, I am not willing to work down the comb height - I am too old to see iron sights very well anyways, and it is an absolutely perfect height for me with the Vari-X III in 2.5-8x36. With Nosler bullets from 120 grains through to 175 grains, it is a "coyotes to moose" rifle, in my mind!
