MagPul D50 drum mags....

Just wondering when a shipment of Magpul D50 / 7.62x 51 , are coming into Canada?
Any Dealers plan on stocking them?

Thanks

The US will no longer export any magazine with an original capacity greater than 32rds.

Do you know if it would work with Stag 10 ? Thanks.

Magpul Industries Magazine, Pmag D-50, 308 Win/762nato, 50rd, Fits Dpms/sr25/larue Obr, Black Finish Mag993-blk

Your Stag10 is DPMS.

Prior to purchase contact them to make sure they offer the pinning service on the D50 to 5 rounds.

For what it's worth here is the email I sent to Armseast USA, I will also do a follow up call with them tomorrow on this as well.

Hello,
Sorry for the problem with the email. Thanks for bringing that to our attention. It is now fixed.

In response:

Hello, We have had mixed messages on the D50 export to Canada and have requested further info from the US State Dept. We do pins mags to 5rnds for export to Canada. There is currently no charge for this service.

Anything else, please do let us know.
Best regards,

"This was released to us last week by the US State Department, they are enforcing Section 38 of the AECA:

“Dear Carolyn,

Thanks for your email regarding DDTC provisos to restrict certain pinned magazines. We understand that pinning magazines is an acceptable practice in most instances and wanted to give you additional guidance for submitting these cases going forward. DDTC is not against the pinning of magazines that have a capacity of 32 rounds or below. Therefore, we ask that when submitting a license application for pinned magazines that you state: “Magazines up to a 32 round capacity pinned to [X] rounds.” This will alleviate the need for you to submit a separate line item for each magazine.

However, DDTC will continue to restrict the export of high capacity magazines (defined as those over 32 rounds) – pinned or not – to government end use only. This is why DDTC needs to know the unaltered magazine capacity for the licenses you submitted. Section 38 of the AECA allows DDTC to restrict the end use of USML defense articles in order to “control imports and exports of defense articles in furtherance of world peace and security and foreign policy of the U.S.” Section 38 is implemented on a case by case basis in response to concerns regarding the end use of defense articles and in reaction to U.S. foreign policy objectives. “

The above release means there will be no more magazines with an original capacity of over 32 rounds exported from the United States.

Thank you for your understanding.

I guarantee I will pursue this further, I have been told many times that things aren't available up here because if ITAR, yet when I contact DDTC they seem to let it pass. Like stated in your post , " on a case by case basis " I feel this is more a Canadian government issue CBSA/RCMP more than the DDTC. I have personally imported many items on the DDTC list with there approval through phone calls and emails. We shall see.

Irunguns posted a thread about this back in the summer.

Seems the problem is on the US side. Every magazine with a capacity of 33 rounds and higher is now considered a "defense article" and can no longer be exported.

The way I read that is that they invoke that section on a case by case basis and in this case it has been invoked on the aforementioned criteria around overall capacity.

It would be awesome if there was a way as they would sellout immediately lol... I would be in for a couple..
