Hi everybody

I bought this rifle from a nice CGN not long ago and now I want to put a scope on it the problem is too many choices to many options to choose ????

Let me tell you what kind of shooter I am.

Do target shooting since 2012,no hunting,my gun range has a maximum range of 200 yards (very rare around Montreal area).

I don't want to spend a fortune because I don't want to buy a scope for a 1000 yards shot but I want a nice quality and clear optic that I would not

be ashamed to show at the range.

So there you are this post is like a survey and a way to exchange opinions with you all I will let you know what will be my final decision and it will be my pleasure to put a picture on this post to show you the result.

Wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Regards
Jacques

yep something in the 4-16 range. go to the local store and take a few of the scopes they have outside and look through them in the daylight. lots of good brands to choose from. Make sure to look through them on the lowest and highest magnification to make sure its clear throughout the range.

If you’re into shooting tiny groups then you need more magnification than the suggestions above. I use a bushnell elite 4.5-30x50 on my 6br for 100-200 meter shooting and it stays on 30 power.

You can make up for smaller powered scopes by using an appropriate sized target... An aiming point that suits the power. Many small groups have been shot with 6 power scopes...

I would look in the 16x minimum range and pick the scope by the reticle and how much you can afford to spend. Unless its a rifle that is bench shot at only 1 distance only I would not buy a scope with a basic cross hair, duplex reticle or target dot and closed turrets... I've had them before and thought I could 'get-by' with them, but they very quickly knew that it wouldn't do what I wanted.

Already mentioned is the Vortex Diamondback Tactical FFP 4-16x44, the turrets on the PST models are a big step up with zero stops in them. and the EBR-2C and 7C MRAD reticles are my favorite.

Athlon Argos, Nikon black, also a sub-$1K PRS style scopes.

Maybe watch some PRS, NRL22 equipment videos and see what people are using...

That rifle will shoot nice, so I’d put as good of an optic as you can swing for your budget. SFP if you’re shooting at a fixed distance with an upper end magnification of 20-25x.

Lower end option such as Sightron S-Tac and work up through Nikon Black, Sig Tango4, SIII Sigthrons, Nightforce SHV. Vortex has some nice new options, but if I’ve seen 10 scope mess up, 7 would be Vortex.

True, but he says he doesn’t hunt so why buy a low power optic.

Because he stated, "a maximum range of 200 yards," and "I don't want to spend a fortune because I don't want to buy a scope for a 1000 yards shot but I want a nice quality and clear optic."

A quality lower powered scope meets those requirements with ease.

Will do thank you !!!

Possibly one of the best optics in a 1" tube has to be the old Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x50. Get the one with target turrets. Parallax works a treat and a crystal clear big picture. Not like looking through a drinking straw. With the 20 mag you will be able to see your bullet holes at 300m.

Bushnell Banner 4-12x40 (Dusk to Dawn) it has very little recoil on the wallet. You can target shoot at first light and as the sun sets - this is what i use on my Tikka T3x (MDT GEN 2) Chassis and 23 inch Krieger barrel.
