What do you guys and girls use as your setup, Hard case, semi rigid, soft case, back pack case?.

I put my AR and pistol in a Gander Mountain Pelican knock off and my shotgun in a soft case.

When I started I used a IM3300 hard case for all three guns. Seemed like a good idea but it was big and heavy so lugging it around got old quick.

Over the years I've transitioned to soft cases for my rifle and shotgun and a very small and slim hybrid soft/hard case for my pistols. I much prefer it this way.

Sorry can't help with make or model of the cases, they are nothing fancy, I think one might be a "mikes" or something cheap.

I use a Tactical Tailor single rifle case for all 3. My shotgun is short at 18.5" bbl so they all fit.

If I'm going far I put this soft case in my Nanuk 990 for more protection.

The only item in a case is my pistol, ammo and tools is in my range bag. SG and rifle travel uncased in the back seat. (rifle is MS)

I find there is already enough to carry during matches, less is more.

Friend of mine used a hard golf bag case; lined it with foam $ trimmed to fit the guns. Fits the Sporting Goods luggage category and looks a lot less steal-able to ground crew.
I thought it was a pretty innovative idea.

Hot damn - that is an awesome idea!

The 1700 looks small for 3 guns - or do you use 2?

It is small and will not accomodate "race setup" like shotguns with +5 extension and 18" AR. I have my AR and pistol in the main compartment and I strap the shotgun in the lid with velcro glued to the lid and carved out foam.

1700 is good if you travel by air and dont want to pay the oversized luggage. If you have no air travel planned, a 1750 will fit the bill nicely.

I use a Nanuk 995 and am very pleased with it.

It fits my M2, AR15 and a handgun with no issues. I saw a new firmer foam at TACCOM that they use now and it was excellent.

Is there a scope on the AR?

The issue I find with most cases for 3 gun uses (full size shotgun / AR style rifle with 18" barrel / handgun) is that the case isn't wide enough, ie if the rifle has a scope the long guns won't fit side by side.

I can usually squeeze the handgun into a left over part of the case.

The Pelican V800 is definitely deep enough to hold to two layers of pre cut foam and equipment.
