NEW: AutoTrickler V3 Powder Dispensing System (full details)

Having had the bluetooth setup for a little over a month now, I can hardly remember life without it. Has greatly sped up my reloading. You wont be disappointed. Just dont keep your phone next to the scale.

I picked up the full V3 upgrade and in addition to the Bluetooth function, the ability to drop and trickle fine ball powder for 17 Hornet loads is a plus. The Lee system would jam solid after one or two charges, the V3 has no problem with CFE BLK which looks like fine pepper.

Picked up the whole V3 kit with scale as well, awesome setup.

Splurged on a few Area 419 upgrades as well and they are awesome.

Looking forward to finally having a free afternoon or two to load up some rounds.

Way too complicated to do a single task.

The auto measuring systems we have now are much simpler and more economical.

And no, this isn't easier and simpler, it's somebody trying to reinvent something to reveal their big discovery.

I'll stick with the charge master.

Not even in the same league.

The autotrickler is a very clever invention, utilizing a lab grade scale. The chargemaster doesn't have near the accuracy as the autotrickler.

About as comparable as a Honda Civic and a Dodge Viper.

You couldn't be more right! The FX-120i is actually 10 times more accurate than the Chargemaster. I did some testing here:

I still have my Chargemaster as a backup but I haven't used it since I got the FX. With the V3 upgrades, especially the Bluetooth function, there's no way I'm ever going back.

That scale is not lab grade. You will never see one of those in a lab.I have a Mettler Toledo analytical balance accurate to .1mg.

I have used the analytical balance to check the accuracy of my Chargemasters. Using two separate Chargemasters (cause one takes too long) I weighed about 50 charges total. The extreme spread (3 stdev) was .16gn

Looks sharp!
Have you loaded any yet?

Go Big Tactical has a good supply of Area 419 upgrades for the Auto trickler system and stand behind their products. Delivery was very fast and avoided delays at the border.

At this point in my life, I have done a lot of "if you like it, just get it " buys on my reloading stuff, that scale setup may be the last one I will do. I am having a tough time with the pricing though. If I was doing competition at 500yds +, I'd bite the bullet now, but, thinking that there has to be a good option that is cheaper than 1000.00 US. Maybe this stage, of this type of product, is just starting to appear on the market and others will start inventing product that will get the price down and maintain the accuracy level at a better pricepoint. Demand is there, need the people to work at it now and get it to market, and I'm thinking it can happen.

Good luck with that. Instrumentation accuracy costs money. The better it is, the more it costs. The FX-120 is a good portion of the $. The rest of the kit was pretty much homebuilt and refined over the intervening years since design. RCBS came up with a competing unit but it hasn't really hit the market yet. They did set a new price level though, and it isn't the way you are thinking.

You did watch these videos from start to finish right?

Who are you asking? Why are you asking?

Yes I watched the videos start to finish.

I think I’d choose the Auto Trickler V3 over the RCBS Matchmaster.

Who are you speaking to? Why are you saying it? LOL!

I'd go the same way, but the best info was in those videos. Bottom line I took away from them is that the Chargemaster worked out pretty much just about as well as both the Autotrickler V3 and the Prometheus. That is unless you really really needed/wanted the utmost in load accuracy. Where the Autotrickler and Prometheus shone was in the speed of dispensing at 1/4 to 1/3 the time it took the Chargemaster. I'd get the Autotrickler based on that alone. I have a ChargeMaster and a ChargeMaster lite. Both work ok but they each take 15-25 seconds to dispense a load. I also have a very high end Ohaus Discovery Balance to check out what the RCBS units are doing and they have been well within -0.02/+0.03gn most of the time. Every so often I still get a bunch-up and multiple kernel drop. Then the charge can easily go to 0.05gn over.

The Auto Trickler sounds nice too. It just sounds like efficiency.

Don’t watch any videos of it in operation if you want one and know it may not be the best time to be buying one.

rick357,

Yep the videos had the answer. The Chargemaster definitely does the job. We’ve all known that for years.
Darn that V3 is one slick machine.

A must have. LOL.

Looks like with the V3 now the only upgrade really needed is the clear Lexan lid.

You are right , the clear lexan lid is probably the best upgrade of the three I got for the V3 . It brightens up the scale tray and makes see spilled powder easier.
The heavy base for the trickler and the Pyrex hopper are great but something you could do with out if your budget is limited.
Theses upgrades are quality for sure but not a necessity.
