That isn't even an SKS by any means.
 
How is this still considered an SKS exactly ?


PECHENEG would say something like:

Buy ammo and shoot rifle as is (in an heavy russian accent)

And I would totally agree. Save the money and buy ammo instead or more SKS
 
I say let them have at it. Theres still plenty of them about, and it will capture their interest and teach them some practical skills.
But make sure that you have an unmolested one tucked away when they (and they will) come to appreciate the beauty of an original unmolested one.

I bought them each a crate of ammo.
 
I tried putting all that crap on an sks, even used two different stocks but just didn’t like it and put the wood back on
Sks is better with the wood
 
that man has serious skills but why go with 5.56? when he could have gone with 7.62 x51, perhaps reuse the same barrel or use a barrel from FN FAL L1A1 since he is already using the gas system. obviously he built it for himself but if he were to make a few FN C1A1, i would be interested, there are built in demand for the prohib clone.

The barrel could be an accuracy issue firing a bullet with a smaller diameter .308 vs .311. I could be wrong.

I took it as: " uncle gave his nephews 2x SKS for xmas (yesterday) , and they watched the utube video, and are already sick of their gifted rifle, and want to change it before even shooting it "
