Sig sauer cross bolt action rifle

Q's are available, apparently no FRT for them in Canada. I tried getting one and was told no go by IRG.

Consider the T3X Tac A1 16". also fits in a 26" ukulele case when folded, but heavier because of the barrel :(

The Sig Cross looks very nice, I plan to buy one when they come available.

A few comments on it:
  • I'm a little bit disappointed that they went with the AICS mags. I would have preferred either a SR25 mag or the Accuracy International AW/AX 308 mag. The AICS mags are long and inefficient when compared to SR25 mags & the superior AI AW/AX mags.
  • I don't see anywhere to connect a sling near the rear of the action around the pistol grip. No big deal, I guess I'll just have to connect at the rear of the rifle or find some other way to connect around the pistol grip.
  • Apparently Sig plans to release additional calibres in the future. I would like to see a 30 cal magnum, like the 300WSM or 300WM, while keeping the weight of the rifle below 7lbs. For comparison a Browning X-Bolt in 300WM is 6.8 Lbs, so the rifle recoil should be tolerable at this weight. The reason for the larger calibre is for hunting large game like Elk. I could see this rifle in a magnum possibly replacing my X-Bolt.
  • I really like the 277 Sig Fury round! I cannot recall the last time there was a firearms innovation of this magnitude. I have questions about it though, like can the the 277 Fury brass be reloaded and how many times before the steel and brass separate. Also, I am curious if this technology could be applied to other cartridges, like the 7.62X51 nato.

I would suspect that fact that it can fold less than 26" OAL would be an issue cited by the RCMP. The remington 700 CP will be more than 26" OAL.

Really? I would've thought that because it's a bolt action, the length wouldn't matter. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
