Problem: Our education system is so dumbed down that your overpaid underworked school teachers can only teach at a People, US, Entertainment Tonight level. Just what the Liberals want. Viral infection, Bacterial infection, and the epidemiology, and etiology of such human killers are never discussed in our school system. And why not? The school teachers of today are really dumb.
And why would the liberal government and teacher's unions Not want to make your children to think? Follow the money.

Had lunch today with a friend who does a great deal of business out of the Wuhan district and he has been in contact with his suppliers/fixers since the start of this and the story is much worse than China is disclosing. 1300 cremations a day, 40 some convention centres taken over for patients and no one to care for them, army is boarding up the windows and doors on ground floors to keep tenants in.
Take it for what it is worth and imagine the same in a major North American urban centre. Country folk should/would fair better.
Today the Health Minister stated you should stock up on food and medication in the event yourself or a family member contact a issue that requires a household quarantine.
Far from panic but a few simple preparatory measures could be in your best interest IMO
This happened to me last winter.. Walking down a hallway and a woman teacher was walking down the centre coughing..I tried staying over as far as I could..next thing I get cough spray from her right in my face..
So the OP posted about how a gun show was cancelled and not a single post about the gun show. Just a bunch of doctors and statisticians arguing over how big of a deal it is. Let me put it to you this way. The entire worlds economy is already feeling the effect and in another 6 months it will be even worse. Because everything comes from China. Companies don't have product to deliver because it all comes from China. China is loosing billions by the day as people still won't go back to work. Use your medical and mathematics degrees to calculate how serious this is when a country is willing to lose billions of dollars to contain it.

Completely agree with you shell shucker. People are probably still more afraid of nuclear warfare than the biological and eco engineering that’s taking place. This year the death rate from the flu in North America is .05%. Only 1% required hospitalization. That is nothing compared to what we are learning about covid 19. If it spreads widely, there could be 46 times more deaths than from the flu.
