Would it still be considered poaching if it's your own cat? Or could it be considered as raising livestock? Asking for a friend...
Yep, a century ago the Irish were dirt. Now they’re held in esteem by modern racists.
We’re all 100% human, and all of us are immigrants at some point.
and all of us are immigrants at some point.
How dare you! Clearly the people who came to Canada as immigrants a century ago are better people than those who come today! Back then, immigrants were hard working people looking for a better life for themselves and their families, while immigrants today are only welfare bums and ideological zealots looking to burn the world down!
But seriously. You're absolutely right. We're all humans, regardless of where you were born, what color your skin is or what religion you believe. It would really be nice if more people viewed everyone from the lens of being human rather than focusing on petty things like religion or who came to Canada first.
I don't understand why people keep repeating that. By definition, an immigrant is someone who travels to live in a foreign Country. If you live in the Country you were born, you are not an immigrant. It's pretty simple really.
Because five generations is nothing in the scales of time, not a grain of sand on a beach. Some like to pretend since their grandparents came here instead of them they’re more entitled. The same people will rant at length about entitlement and its evils after a couple beers, yet believe being born on one piece of dirt instead of another rightfully entitles us to something.
If it was all about being here first First Nations really should call all the shots. I don’t see it that way, I see us all as human and equally worthy beings, First Nations immigrated here too not that long ago in the true scales of time. Divided we fall, and man does our species love making divisions.

As was said during the Vietnam war "We couldn't kill them fast enough."
im a new immigrant here arrived over 17 years ago and i do not want ""..."" ....only welfare bums and ideological zealots looking to burn the world down! ...""..."" sorry you really have to think not all immigrants are the same ...
Hmmmm, my family arrived in North America in 1721 AD (12 generations) and I don't consider myself an immigrant. Today, an immigrant is a person who migrated to Canada to become a resident. Don't forget, it was the English, french, Irish and Scot's who were the primary people who built Canada, many thousands died in warfare to protect her.
Unless you're native, which is even worse to half the people here. You just can't win.

Most are people that want to push the agenda that anyone who isn't of native descent are less entitled.
If Europeans that came to north america after the various waves of migrants are less worthy, then it stands to reason that anyone that came afterwards is also less entitled.
Can't really have one without the other.
Me? I'm just a Canadian. I'm not an immigrant or a First Nation or a Settler or an Hyphen-Canadian. Just a Canadian. I wish more Canadians would embrace the concept of simply being Canadian.
You missed the sarcasm. Some of my best friends are immigrants, I work with immigrants, my doctor and dentist are immigrants... I have nothing but respect for them, they left their previous life which was often easier, to try and make a go of things in Canada, more often than not because they believe that they can provide a better life for children by moving here, even if it means a worse life for themselves in the short term (doctors working as janitors, engineers delivering pizza, etc).
Last I checked the Chinese built the railroad... And then when we didn't need them anymore we raised the head tax to make it much harder for them to immigrate...
