Well... yeah. Sometimes it doesn't take much to go from trivializing something to memorializing it. There's a decent way to do a product like this.

Correct. And, to the same extent that we judge people who equip their trucks with "hitch testicles", or imbeciles with "Coexist" stickers on their Priuses, people sporting this trash in their gun clubs will be judged by the unprecedented tastelessness of it.

We are already vilified for things we do not do. We don't need to add "I am oblivious to a catastrophic event" to the list of our concerns. Like it or not, public image and perception matter.

I also live in Canada, pay my taxes and work for IRUNGUNS in Canada. This mag has no political agenda, not meant to offend anyone, not meant to upset all those sensitive souls out there. A customer asked for it, I myself thought it looked badass and loved it! I am actually shocked at all the comments on here against IRUNGUNS. Really, some people need to settle down and stop taking everything so personally. Calm down people.

Finding that something is distasteful and of poor judgement in a specific context is not the equivalent of taking it personal.

This combined with IRG's earlier poor understanding of what constitutes deflection, amongst a few other things, only reinforces my perception that IRG is terrible with words, marketing, and communications in general.

Don’t hate on Trump for putting America first, he said he would make it great again and looking after the health and safety of his people will be first on his list! REMEMBER- He was the first to close boarders when our leaders didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings and lied saying that this was low risk!! Justin Is handing out millions to Ontario and Quebec companies to retool to manufacture PPE and it won’t be ready for months so that’s kind of a joke in itself using emergency money to pander for votes during a crisis
Blame our leadership for the pandemic we are facing now! If we are lucky Justin won’t sell us out to the United Nations or China before this is all over!

We have those taxes because we as a society actually care about our neighbors and their ability to remain healthy - unlike you guys which is quite ironic given how much bible-thumping goes on down south.

As a fellow accountant, I'm going to focus on staunchly opposing the last paragraph of your post. Taxation in North America has clearly decoupled from Government spending, just as Government spending has clearly decoupled from actual domestic needs. I'm in accounting to protect people from their Government, not to act as a cheerleader for the CRA... :canadaFlag:
 
While offensive is more a personally feeling, IRG here is obviously more carfully selecting messages to send so they don't step into hate zone, they well know the consequences if they do. Dancing on the edge is a dumb move for a company because this move can hardly bring new interests yet higher chances to lose some. I don't like how they manipulate their messages, was a good customer, they lost me here.

Nothing's being taken personally.

There's a saying that goes "terrible taste but great execution". The engraving is great, the timing and theme is weird ... to say the least. Not much to commemorate when the virus is still rising to its peak.

But opinions are opinions and no one should be silenced so long as they aren't insulting/threatening others.
 
I have nothing but respect for irunguns and the service they provide for our country.
If people are gonna start acting like this over a magazine you people need to put your damn phones down and go for a walk.

Mag looks kickass.

Oh BY THE WAY my job puts me hand in hand with Covid-19, and oh guess what, i have better things to do then complain about a magazine for our range enjoyment.

And also guess what, i have family working in the medical field helping sick people and they find these cool looking.

So you all take your panties out of your mouths and go do something productive.

You don't want to buy it, move on. You don't agree with it, who cares.
