We'd like to sell some CMMG lower receivers. I haven't personally examined these yet, and would like to hear your thoughts.

So, assuming you're in the market for an AR-15 lower receiver, CMMG yea/nea?

Specifically lowers please, the next barrels are already in the process.

I want Stag lowers too :(, but as per the warning I passed on here months ago, lag times are now HUGE on these, you don't want to know how long we've been waiting for our Stag lower order to fill. We ARE able to get the CMMG product pretty quickly.

As to prices, assume about the same as anything else, I'm looking for feedback on the lowers technically, not by price comparison.

I realize that not many people here have 1st hand experience with the CMMG lowers, so 2nd hand info welcome. ;)

Stripped.

The Stag LPK is the current Colt semi-auto LPK (other than maybe the pistol grip and sometimes the safety), and are readily available. The Stag buttstocks are milspec, known quality, and priced right, no intentions on sourcing these elsewhere.

Upper and Lower forgings are in short supply due to a huge surge in demand, on both the civilian and govt sides of the coin.

With lowers its very hard to go wrong, and since your not able to get Stag ones CMMG makes sense. There isn't really much of any other option either, a lot of the other lowers from brands people like are too much cash for a chunk of aluminum.

From the cmmg website:
CMMG, Inc MOD4SA semi-auto AR15 stripped forged lower receiver. Lower is mil spec and uses standard take-down and fire control pins. Receiver is mil-spec hard coat anodized aircraft grade 7075 T6 aluminum and is Teflon coated for added durability and color consistency. Receivers are RDIAS/RLL compatible.

They're milspec, and forged so they can't be all that bad.

Milspec has become a loose term for something thats supposed to be very specific. Milspec lowers are full-auto, these arent, however they do take standardized parts and use the same quality materials and finishes.

Here's a pic. The markings aren't THAT objectionable.

The USGI pin hole specification is a plus. The forged 7075 T6 aluminum is also a milspec feature. The Teflon is nothing to get me excited. the regular black anodizing would be just as suitable for a range gun, but whatever. It's not a detractor either IMHO. As long as they take parts as well as the Stags do, I should think thye would be fine. (ie, QA/QC is up to par?)

I voted yes. More = more potential resitrcited owners, greater product diveristy and potentially lower prices.

CMMG has custom engraving on the lowers so you could pretty much have whatever on there, the offer the infidel logo on the lowers right on their website.

You should just bring some in with either the infidel script or just a simple maple leaf, I`d buy one.

From what I can determine, CMMG seems to be making a quality product...
It doesn't have the 'cachet' of LMT/Colt, etc., but if that's what is available, count me in.....

I voted yes - and if they are willing to engrave whatever you want, why not bring in 50 or so with a little Maple Leaf (maybe even CGN initials if the powers that be approve that sort of thing) - kinda a special edition stripped lower - I bet they would sell out quickly if the price was reasonable. Or, put together a prepaid order and have people choose what they want engraved (I know, that might be a nightmare to handle, but still - I'd like to have a custom engraved lower). Quality of the lowers seems good, so I'm all for it:)

Not to side track for the original post, but if you want a custom lower, make it yourself. Dlask sells the forgings. (I think they are a site sponsor.) Then engrave it yourself, or get someone else to engrave it.

I think any lower made within a certain spec will be a great seller if the price is right.
