Clearly states grandfathering is in the clause:
[FONT="]The government official said that, at the end of the two-year amnesty, gun owners must dispose of the firearm or they may be able apply for the firearm to be "grandfathered." Details on the grandfather process would be released at a later date, the official said.

You guys got to start reading and not talk out of your... that place.
Thanks wolverine. Question for you- if someone were to grandfather an XCR, will you still be able to import spare parts? Assuming just not lower receivers
Is there anything that can be legally done at this point to repeal this decision? Are there any lawyers that are working on this? Maybe we can donate money to their time and effort?
There is another thread going on about this BS
https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...will-require-complete-Deactivation-of-firearm!!
Supposedly Tracey at the CCFR confirmed that deactivation will be required for grandfathering
Apparently it was confirmed at a technical meeting she was at getting details about the ban.
Can we take a legal challenge? John
I think we should initiate a class action to challenge this.
My understanding is that even the Government has no idea of what form the Grandfathering and compensation programs will be. Only pure speculation at this point.
As for deactivation, we can deactivate any firearm, regardless of class, after deactivation she is no longer a firearm, case closed.
I’m sure it’s been mentioned. But shouldn’t every Pal holder get a letter saying that they may be affected by this? If you don’t look at the news. And who does it’s so depressing , you’d never know of these new rules That took place today?

There are no grandfathering provisions.
Its ban now and we will think about compensation later.
They are saying now that grandfathering will require complete deactivation of the firearm
