Hunting rifles are on the ban list

Canada's current fascist bent is shocking, this firearms ban is clear evidence... history is littered with examples... it is stunning how little push back they are getting on this.

I wonder what loads they use to figure that out. The 460 is right on the edge, some factory is under some over 10k J.

You need 7375ftlb to make 10k J

Also my factory norma 500jeffery 570gr get a muzzle velocity of 2198fps with 6116 ftlb. Thats 670m/s and 8286j energy but hand loaded it gets up to 11kJ

Its not named by calibre, and what LEO would even know the Kj of any rifle, let alone handloads..
 
10,000 joules, banning and the "buyback". I just got off the phone with my father in law, big game hunter and gun nut.
He has lots of fun things on the list. The kicker is his friend with the Holland and Holland in some flavor of Nitro Express. Just imagine offering that guy 1000$ for his quarter million dollar rifle. Hopefully there are enough captains of industry getting screwed by this that the uproar make some twit in office notice.

Oh yes they would. For years in BC you have been unable to shoot a bison with a rifle that does not retain 2,712 joules of (2,000 ft lbs) or more energy at 100m. It's right in the reg synopsis. That's means a 175 gr bullet or larger that meets this criteria.

That rules out the classic "Buffalo" guns like the 50-07, 44-77 and 45-70 which decimated the buffalo herds in the 1800s.

If they wanted to challenge your handloads, all it would take is a chronograph and your confiscated ammo to make the case.

Who is they? Your 460 is safe here, maybe your LEO are more competent in BC. Also, the ammo is legal, the firearm is banned, and a gray area at that.

Cops arent going to be trolling around looking for .460 WBY because someone might have a hot load. If you're worried, load moderate handloads.

Not the ones that pose a threat to the public, just the Liberal governments control.

You have a morally corrupt government, misleading the public, going after law abiding, either taking or neutralizing use of property. Using State controlled clearly biased media. Add in going the route of using the OIC to speed this up. Add in a recession/depression. There are so many red flags here. Canadians should be scared of our future. Another fake narcissistic douche bag disguised as charismatic is the last thing we need. There is no point trying to out Trudeau Trudeau.

I was thinking of building a 600AHR or 500 jeff. or something along those lines. With the cost of ammo or even brass alone these are not your everyday hunting rifles like a savage axis. They are a suitable rifle for canada"s big bears in heavy dense cover or for a trip to Africa or for a Alaskan bear hunt. Nothing wrong with them loaded with a lighter slug and being used on moose or elk in the thick bush. This stupid 10k rule has to be changed also.
