SKS's flying off the Equipment Exchange

Some of those russians were the really bad bbq paint mismatched ones. I guess now it doesn’t matter as they wld be worth more. I just can’t handle the bbq paint it puts me off.

My sks has been sitting in Montreal since May 6th.... Canada post..
I wonder if it has been already confiscated by the Liberals, lol...

I see chinese mismatch going for 400 which is crazy. The wood on the chinese is so ugly.

i seen that ad too, not one part number matched, shocking but not all chinese woods are ugly, i have seen some blonde wood looks very nice and some thumbhole stocks are very rare.

Kind of on but off topic, but does anyone know what price an sks-d is going for these days? Completely subjective I know, but I'm wondering how much one in good condition albeit in a Tapco stock would go for? Just asking for a friend ;)

I don’t think the D models have gone up in cost, same with the yugos and non refurbed examples
Seems like the average refurbs are the ones going up in value as those are the ones everyone is buying

Is your friend looking to buy or sell?

That's probably a good thing then. With type 81's going out in style I'd think someone would try to sells Ds as the next best thing. I'm actually waiting on a guy to get some Yugos imported from Europe, but I'm getting a little antsy.

750 for a D model with AK type mag release, seems to be the going rate +$$$ for aftermarket stock and extra mags at 50 bucks each
a friend picked one up for a grand all in but it came with a side folding pistol grip stock and 5 magazines (5/30) +shipping.

well priced D models sell quick

not all D models are worthy though. There are those D's that have the same mag release as the fixed mag models and in my opinion not worth any more than a fixed mag model. Often the 30 round mags or the drum mags drop right out of the gun while firing due to the mags weight and the wimpy mag release.
True "D" models have the AK style mag release and are worth the premium if in good condition. I have no use for fixed mag sks rifles and fail to see why guys pay more than 2 or 3 hundred for those rifles.

what you think on the value and what the people are paying are 2 different things. i can see a lot of sks going for 600 and more and not staying ... soon that will be price of the past and $1000 will be new sks price ...

for those not real sks d the 5 ronder are working great ...

I hear ya.... and I agree, the market will be set simply by what people are willing to pay in a panic buying atmosphere that the government has created.
Speaking only for myself though, I have no use for fixed mag type sks rifles and am steering clear of the panic buying hehehe
Wish I had kept some of the multitude of SKS-D models I owned back in the 90's and early 2000's but I sold them all off in favor of the m14 rifles.
If I had only kept a few of those to sell off in today's market LOL

After SKS is gone, I guess there will be no center fire semi-auto left.. anything with a detachable mag will be banned first, then SKS. Or may be Valmets will be left alone, they seem to have some kind of protective aura.

If the story goes as it's told.... the valmets were given to some of Canada's Indigenous peoples , by the Canadian government, as hunting tools.
If this is correct, I would think that sets a precedent that semi automatic firearms with pistol grips and detacheable magazines are indeed suitable hunting firearms.
but that is a topic for another discussion
