Forgive my ignorance, but in the video it showed the Bushmaster upper had a larger ejection port and a modified feed ramp to deal with the larger round. Would these changes, and perhaps similar changes for 7.62 x 39 or Valkyrie need to be done by Spectre prior to cerakoting, or could a gunsmith perform the modifications after the fact?

No changes needed for 224 Valkyrie. cant say for x39.

The ejection port for my NEA 7.62 X 39 is the same size as 5.56.

Just an update for everyone... Uppers are coming along nicely. We are going to start on lowers early next week. Once the first batch is done it will be off to anodizing. We expect the hardware and bolt bodies to be ready around the same time.

How many receiver sets are you doing in a batch?

That would be telling :) Seriously, I expect Spectre won't release this information, in case something goes wrong with part of the batch; they've been pretty careful not to promise anything specific ahead of time.

We covered this in the other thread. Our first batch is going to be 15 to 20 units, which is small. We have opted for a small batch initially to get rifles in your hands quickly, and to help us test our production methods. We have extended the size of our first run of uppers, simply because we're waiting for engraving bits for our lowers.

Moving forward we are going to start doing larger batches to minimize down time due to changing out fixturing on the CNC and as we bring more machines online.

For those of us also looking at picking up extra uppers, do you guys have any ideas on timing relative to the release of the full receiver sets?
With my current list of wants I'm coming to the realization that I probably should have bought more than 2 stickers.

At this point we don't have an exact ETA for uppers. However I think we will make sure there are extras available with the 2nd batch on a first come first serve basis.

Everything is ready to go on our final lower receiver machining operation in the morning!
