I recently purchased a 22 pistol for teaching my kids to shoot and discovered that the M22 has problems.
There are some fixes on you tube but nothing that helps me.
I would like to hear your personal experiences and solutions.
Mine fails to fire and extract and cycle frequently.

I am not sure how frequent do you mean. Generally rimfires are far less reliable than centrefires. If you have a misfre rate around 2-3%, that's normal. I had an ISSC that often experienced weak strikes.

There are other threads about this and I’ve listed my fixes. DO NOT do the YouTube fixes that involve a Dremel. Send me a message and we can talk. For general info these work better with mini mags and for some reason my daughters loves thunderbolt.

Mine was running like crap until i tried out the thunderbolts, night and day. runs like a champ now.

I have Blazer ammo and Winchester white box. The Blazer ammo does work better. I went to the range for the first time with my new gun on Saturday. I would say it worked maybe 50%. At the end of my session, every single shot was a fail to extract/cycle. I had to pick out every shell with my pocket knife.
I stretched my extractor spring so it would have more tension and I stored the gun with the slide locked back to help reduce recoil spring tension. Today it worked a lot better. Certainly not perfect but better. It still does not like the Winchester ammo.

Is it new or older version? Mine has never once failed to extract or load. Never had a misfire either and I’ve ran 100’s of rounds through it. There’s all kinds of fixes for the first Gen but this one seems the best to me...

Also definitely run high velocity 22 ammo. The firearm won’t cycle properly without it. Jeez sorry about that, misread the pistol part

Mine runs great on Minimags, but horrible on Federal bulk. I just use them all the time for all my rimfire pistols. Rimfire also gets pretty dirty, so they can slow down if too long between cleanings.

I had one briefly.... not a fan. Ammo feeding issues. Seemed to do best with CCI Mini-Mags but still not 100%.

Real solution was to get rid of it [with full disclosure to buyer]. Which I did. Interestingly, he eventually frustrated with it & passed it along to a new owner, too.

Safe to say.... I'm NEVER getting another one. ;)

FWIW their customer service is trash too. Mine was out of commission for 3 months while I was desperately trying to get a replacement firing pin, after less than a year owning it. Finally found a shop that ordered one in for me at 30 bucks.
