Blue box Federal 22 ammo Junk ?

I am getting "miss fires from all 4 of my guns using this newest bunch of ammo.

They are getting a Solid hit on the primers but not igniting I have even run them through 3 times to try to get them to work...nothing !
at least 1 per 10 shots is a DUD. I have had Very good luck with this ammo in the past, but wow not so much any more.

I actually switched to bulk 333 Winchester for the day and had better results LOL

any one else having issues with this federal ammo ?

That ammo used to be quite sought after. I have certainly fired a lot of it. It was accurate and as reliable as most bulk often is. I think you got a bad lot, I have personally noticed a lot of QC issues with rimfire these past few years.
 
Sounds like perhaps a bad lot? I've never had the issues you've had with that ammo, but I haven't bought it lately either though as other stuff has been cheaper the last few times I bought any 22.
 
Lots of people like this ammo, I’m not one of them lol, constant ftf, fte and poor accuracy through my rimfire firearms led me to sell off the case and a half I had

When was that? Recently? Or some time ago?

This stuff is no match ammo, but it was my favorite bulk ammo for a long time... The only stuff my savage mk2 won't eat nicely is winchester and cci mini mags (Cci SV is great though).
 
Just bought it last week.

here are my finding....crude but it tells the tail.

I pulled 11 apart. then fired them. as you can see in the primer pic, there are 2 very good strikes,...and nothing !

I then weighed the powder ....well crap the scale is all over the place, LOL

Of those 11 was this the only one that didn't go off? Try that case a few more times, maybe the priming compound is all in one spot and not properly distributed?

Is the Next step to cut the case and see what the priming compound looks like?
 
well I did some Winchester 333 bulk.

they measured up a lot better than the federal. I did 10 and they were all very consistent.

no doubt I got a crap batch. testing done. The "observable Evidence tells the Tail. "
LOT number #16AO71 Federal stay away from it.

Sold about 2 years ago, my firearms favourite bulk ammo is cci mini-mags and believe it or not Winchester super x 555
 
I have found that it varies box to box. I have had some boxes that work flawlessly and others that every third round is a jam
 
It's a bit random but since it's been mentioned a few times the Win bulk ammo is pretty good. I have run plenty from different lots over the chrony with good results. It's still bulk though, duds and bloopers abound compared to the more expensive brands.
 
FTF I stick on the targets butt owt in pre-exsist'in bullet holes.
Fine tewn yer awpticks and see iff'in yew can nail'im and lite them up.
Frick'in pessississmitstz awn'ear.
 
I go through a few boxes a year, not having your issues TBH. I get mine at the local Cambodian Tire, the only time I notice something like that I'm laying it on the gun. GSG15 &a .22lr adapter for my Glock. everything else gets a solid diet of this or Aguila Sniper Subsonic.

I've never had problems with this ammo either. Definitely sounds like OP got a bad batch, having said that, I haven't actually bought the blue box for a few years since I had several boxes stored up.. starting to get low now though.
