holy crap, you're under 7700 so you're one of the first person to place an order.

i think its partly their fault cos i too missed the pal info so many of us did, apparently the font was tiny. the check out should not be allowed to proceed when buying a firearm without filling the pal. needs reprogramming.

bcos of this thread, when others were warned i realized a day later i didnt put my pal so emailed them. im 783x but im getting mine tomorrow, yippie!!!

My order was in exactly 3 minutes after the email arrived. Definitely one of the first 10 I would say. It's 100% my fault. I didn't have my pal yet so they held onto it for me until I got the number from the rcmp. My license was issued at the time so they were cool with it.

Shot mine, I am very impressed with the overall build quality of this rifle. I only did some shooting at 50 yards but everything seemed to work fine even tested the drum mag. The phosphate finish is quite nice also.

When you've spent $2000 with a retailer it isn't unreasonable to expect or want your purchase to ship promptly. If they sold that many in such a short time they could bring in some temporary help for packing with some of those profits and get them out the door.

It also said “in stock and ready to ship” not “in stock and ready to ship eventually”. As I’ve said in a previous post I get they can only do what they can do and we will get it when we get it but come on TI you know that we are all gunnutz and how us gunnutz are!! This is our version of crack and you are the crack dealer. We want it and WE NEED IT! Come on TI just throw us a bone and give us an update here and there if you can.

Anyone have issues pulling out the knob to twist and remove the front hand guard? Mine does not seem to want to do this. On one setting I can pull it out maybe a mm but I can’t turn it anywhere. I don’t remember having this issue with my original T-81.

Thoughts?

You need to rotate the knob so #5 is facing the shooter (RHS facing the butt), then pull the LHS out and rotate.

Is Norinco not gonna make them anymore? why the stop in production and how many will tactical imports receive?

Is it norinco or polytech? Either way I hear the factories are shutting down but I doubt the gun is going anywhere, if you look online there's a few different attempts to modernize it from black polymer furniture to rails and keymod. Maybe its just the civilian version/factory shutting down?

Norinco isn't going to keep running a factory that turns out maybe 1000 old 1980's era rifles a year, when they can retool it to make more modern firearms which sell more, for more money and being a part of modernizing the PRC armed forces.

The profit isn't there for Norinco unless a government/police/military force orders 10,000 type 81's but why not just order 10,000 type 56's with more aftermarket product compatibility with AK variants, or even just order 10,000 Norinco CQA rifles.

It would be asking why doesn't Norinco still make SKS rifles, the profit isn't there.

Mine is hard to pull the knob out too
I think the reason is either because of the park coating which seems a bit gritty when trying to pull the knob out
Or because the knobs are a bit thinner then the normal type 81 rifles so they are a bit harder to grab
The carry handle is kinda in the way too
The gas plug and piston are difficult to remove as compared to the orig type 81 also I find

Hmm maybe better fitment/tighter tolerances? From all the feedback I've read on here so far the LMG is a much nicer and better built rifle then the standard rifles...can't compare mine yet though..still waiting for it to ship :(

100 percent agree. TI initially said they would all be shipped by end of September. I dont mind waiting but feel maybe 30 days from order date is acceptable. Anything beyond that is getting ridiculous
