What are you using for binoculars

The main reason I buy vortex products is their warranty. It’s unconditional and extends to the next owner if you buy used vortex stuff.
Yes there is higher end stuff out there, but I think only nightforce has a similar warranty and it costs way way more.

Yes, vortex warranty is great. Brother in laws binos ride the dash of the truck year ‘round. Exchanges them regularly no questions asked.

I have been using Leupold for a significant number of years. I started with a pair of green ring cascades, then upgraded to a set of BX3’s. While on a caribou hunt we compared them with the Swaro’s EL and they were very close. The guy with the Swaro’s actually was mad at his as they have fogged twice on him. Once while on the hunt. I used my cascades even after the upgrade and finally last year the eye cup broke on one of them. Korth has a new set of BX2’s on my doorstep within a week.

I keep telling myself I need to upgrade to fancy euro glass, but with the Leupold warranty (that you don’t hardly have to use unlike some brand mentioned here) is only going to lighten my wallet. I would take a serious look at them.

I use Leupolds. I had a pair of camo 10x50 Olympics I bought new in mid 90's. in 2016, I ended up with a cracked plastic threaded ring that held the eye cup after 20+ years of use. Sent into Korth Group for replacement of small part, they gave me back a new pair of 10x50 BK-3 Mojaves in Mossy Oak Treestand Camo -great glass. LOVE Leupold for their product and service. This is the reason I have Leupold scopes for all my rifles as they back up their product when/if you have an issue.

I would like a Leica or Zeiss with the built in RF and being able to input your ammo load info on a chip.

If Leupold had a Bino/RF combo, I would definately buy one.

In no particular order: Swarovski 8 x 30, Swarovski 15 x 56 SCLs, Zeiss 8 x 56 Dialyts, Leica 10x42 Geovids..

Don’t cheap out on binos. 1000 bucks is cheaping out. 1000 used is cheaping out. 2000 is more likely to be cheaping out than not. That little collection at the top of this post is cheaping out too, though it sure didnt feel like it at the time:(

The Swarovski EL ranging binos are what you want. You just don’t know it yet.

I did a lot of research before buying mine and they seem to stack up against some of the more expensive binoculars. I mounted mine on tripod and can read signs from like 1 km away with them.

I have the Leupold Acadia BX-2 in 8x42, bought 'em about a year ago but I think they're discontinued now. When I bought them I went into Cabelas to look at the Leupold Acadia BX2, Vortex Diamondbacks, and Nikon Prostaff 3 and 5. The prostaff 3s were ~$100 cheaper than the other two brands, and you could tell by looking though them, while the 5's were a 10x50 and larger than I wanted. The Vortex and Leupolds were close, but my eye liked the Leupolds more. Then I walked over to the bargain cave and they had the Leupolds in an open box for $100 off! - I had already picked the Leupolds, but was going to do some shopping before I returned to the optics counter to pick them up.

This is my second pair of Leupolds, my others being a pair of Yosemite bx1 10x30. Those ones are Porro prism not roof prism, but they are pretty compact and have really good glass for a $99 pair of binos (bought 50% off at Wholesale Sports a few years back). They are now my backup pair, and you can adjust the pupil distance really small on them so they work good for my kids and tiny wife which is a nice bonus.

As for the Vortex GlassPak, I don't really like it. Its what I've been using for the past two seasons, and it sure beats no bino harness but I feel like it has a design flaw. The lower straps connect to the harness at the very bottom corner, rather than part-way up the side, which causes the top of the glasspak to flop forward rather than sit parallel to my chest. That could just be me and the way I like my straps adjusted, but I'm not a fan. However, it was $30USD at Cabelas down south, and you're looking at $80USD+ for anything else so I'll live with them until I can afford a better replacement - they do their job, which is to protect my binos and keep a few extra things super handy (there are two side elastic pockets, and a little zippered compartment on the back, where I keep windicator, lens pen, a cleaning cloth, ear plugs on a string, my havalon w/ 2 extra blades, and a bit of TP), but they could be better.
