What are you all using for bullet pullers, press mounted collets or hammer style kinetic pullers? I’ve been buying the last of the gear I need and a bullet pullers is on the list, I can see one coming in handy for a few reasons. I have two single stage presses at my disposal but can’t decide which way to go, any recommendations?

I have a kinetic hammer and it gets the job done but I am interested in a collet puller so I will be watching what the consensus is among the Nutz here.

I use a collet puller in the press. Before that the cartridge in the shell holder, bullet up through the opening where a die would go, and grab with a pair of side cutters. Stroke press down, bullet stays in side cutter.

Depends what you need/want it for. If you just want it to have in case you need it, kinetic is cheap and effective. If you plan on pulling down surplus or gun show reloads, then collet would make sense.

That said, I use my kinetic to pull 7.62x54r to reload 303, didn't have a bench mounted press at first and don't do it enough to bother spending money on something else.

Honestly a bit of both, in case I screw up and need to pull cartridges appart. I always find discarded live rounds at the range and would like to pull bullets for the brass etc. Have corrosive surplus I’d like to pull and reload into non corrosive primed brass.

The Hornady Cam lock puller is pretty slick. Uses collets and has a quick throw leaver.
I bought one a while back and although I don’t use it much, I like it much more than the older hammer style pullers.

I have used the hammer type puller for real tight mil surp bullets and collet type for others but more recently did buy a "grip N pull" puller. For pulling my own mistakes it works great and is fast.

I have both the kinetic and RCBS collet puller. The kinetic hammer eventually has the shell holder strip so I use a shell holder for the press in it. Then you have to fish out the bullet and pour out the powder. I find the collet puller easier and cleaner. I don't find it affects the bullets that have been pulled. I do find the nose of the bullets from the kinetic hammer get dinged. I put some paper towel in to try and help with the dinging.

I've got all three types. Hammer for lead, grip and pull for the bit of rifle I do and collet for the jacket/plated pistol

I have and use both.
The hammer is great whe there isn't enough of the bullet for a collet to grab (wadcutters) or is hard to grab (tapered nose SWC).
The collet is a lot neater, since the powder stays in the case.

I had the rcbs, but I didn't like it with the hornady lock and load bushings, I want to get the hornady cam lock, I think that will be the ideal solution with the lock and loads.

I have the Hornaday cam lock system. Great for doing large volumes. Little bit of setup time to get it just right, but once you have it, you can do large volumes without getting tired.

on the single stage used the RCBS puller, it uses a T bar to tighten the collet, when I played with the turret press had to go with the Hornday cam lock, both work well prefer the cam lock

I have the Forster and Hornady press mounted pullers and a RCBS hammer one. Both styles have their place although I like the Hornady unit better than the Forster one. JMO
