Ahh missed out on a 'deal of the year'...Who snaged that SIG of the EE last night?

Can't believe it...

Checked the EE forum last night about midnight and there was a new for sale post with only 15 views for a stainless SIG P226 for only $600!!!

I send a PM with a few questions*, a minute after the post was edited "sold" and shortly after deleted by the mods...I never got a reply...

I would've (or should've) said "I'll take it" rigt away, but was a little suspicious because the price was so low and the photo posted was a 1"x1" that was actually linked from some US website so maybe I just didn't get burned...


Anyways felt compelled to share the little story...

Sounds like another bogus post. I have seen a few that use the photo from Gunbroker etc for US guns and are nowhere near legit. The mods are pretty good at spotting that stuff and yanking before somebody gets conned.
I wouldnt feel so bad about missing out. I expect you are better orr.

that was my first though as well; the pic was from http://www.firepowertv.us/weaponreviews.asp website (scroll down) which is what alerted me...but the seller had trader rating of 5 (all positive) but 0 forum posts...

The mods are pretty good at spotting that stuff and yanking before somebody gets conned.

The simple solution to making sure things are legit is to require photos with the name of the poster somewhere in it (usually written on a piece of paper).. I've seen this at other forums where there's a buy and sell section trading in expensive items, and it works rather well.

The real deal of the century was the original, matching Colt USGI 1911A-1 .45 a few weeks back that was $550. The only thing not correct about it was the grips but they are easily had. Figure what one of those goes for right now and see that was a real steal.

And no, I wasn't the lucky ba$tard that got it....
