6.5 Creed with 120 grain pills and H4350

My last tikka was a 243. I was getting .75 moa with 5 rounds. I'm wishing I kept it. I'm not concerned about the noslers. Those are strictly for hunting. I was expecting better results from the 120s.

The bullets for precision/accuracy in 6.5 Creedmoor are unanimously, Berger 140 Hybrids, Berger 130 AR, Berger 144 LR, and Hornady 140 ELDM, in pretty much that order.

During barrel fowling, just trying to lay some copper in and get the velocity settle, with 140 Hybrids and a random light charge of 40.8gr of H4350, my last barrel laid multiple .5 MOA 10 shot groups on the same page. I don’t think your goals are all that unrealistic. I just question your bullet selection.

I have always done .5 increments with charge weights. I see people doing .2 or .3. Is there a standard practice?

I always go in 1% of charge weight increments, so in this case 0.4 grains. In a 223 I go 0.2, in a 300wm I go 0.7gr steps when doing load development

the 120SMK and ELD are likely capable of very good accuracy, but just not at as high of velocity as you'd like to see. From a longer barrel, you'd likely find the accuracy and velocity you're looking for.

Hornady original offering for the 6.5 creed was with the Hornady 120 and the 140.
Their ammo box has at the back, the duplication data to handload it.
That data used Varget. The 120 was accurate as the 140.

I am sure if you do a search, it can be tracked back. Thats what I was using when the 6.5 CM was introduced.

There is now great loads - bullets combination, but those Hornady load work.
