Brazil to buy up to 159 000 beretta apx pistols

Beretta has just recently introduced the APX to the Australian market. Although the Glock 22 is the most used HG by LE in NA.

I wanted to like glock, but the apx just feels so much better in my hand to shoot. I think the apx is superior but falls short in the reliability tests compared to glock and other platforms. Your average end user won't be putting them through such harsh conditions though. I sold my glock 19x at a loss to fund my fde apx. Worth it.

I'm actually very surprised the apx hasn't been more popular than it is, but if it was my decision to outfit our guys it would be glock from a business/logistics approach. Aftermarket support for the apx is better now but still lacks severely.

At least they made a decision. How much longer are we going to wait for DND to decide on what pistol to buy to replace the browning
The DND is going too get a deal on Taurus 92"s lightly used from Brazil. A steal at $3700 each.
Is it telling that Brazil didn't get new Taurus to be the new duty gun?

Instead of making there own Industry more competitive, nope they rather export work as If they don't have enough People looking for work !

Unfortunately, it takes a "Donald Trump" to understand and implement this simple concept.

Sounds all to familiar !

Cheers

I'll accept the Glock, wouldn't necessarily call it better.

I carried the same 2nd gen Glock 22 .40 S&W for about 15 yrs. Conservatively, it had over 35,000 rounds thru it in that time. Pretty much all full house factory ammo. In that time not one fail to feed, fire, extract or eject. I'd call that acceptable. :)

NAA.

This is the second story i have seen lately about a Brazilian police agency getting new handguns. The other agency has new Glock 22's - interesting that they chose a .40 but even more interesting that neither agency chose a Taurus pistol.

I have handled the APX but have not fired it yet, felt OK but I am still a Glock guy.

Good for Beretta. Been a fan of a 92 series for many years but haven't actually got around to shooting the APX yet (not crazy about the looks to be honest)
