Hey guys, I was just wondering if I had enough primers, powder and bullets at home. I know... we never ever have enough!!

I roughly shoot 5-6k rounds/year. I shot way less in 2020 because of the virus. I plan on shooting less in the nead future due to components availability so I can keep my stash. We need to think about budget too.
I have roughly;

I googled the ideal ammo stockpile after I wrote this text. Here is the google answer;

As a general rule of thumb, you should always keep a minimum of 1,000 rounds of ammunition per caliber stored away not to be used for practice, and another pile of 1,000 rounds for practice. That's a minimum of 2,000 rounds that you'll have to buy over time, and that's also just for one caliber.

I ain't anywhere close to those numbers, let me know what stash you currently have, what you are lacking and what would be the ideal stash.

Cheers!!

Too much to count but still not enough!

Just like firewood. When you think you have enough, get more

enough to last me through a bit of a drought at the current rate I can get out to the range.

Do you really expect people to tell on an internet forum what they stock?

Set amounts are meaningless.
If a hunter who uses 6rounds/year has 2 boxes he's fine. If a competitive shooter has 10 000 rounds but uses 100 000 /year they better be looking hard for more.

I'm thinking that 1.5 - 2 years worth for normal use is a good idea.
On the other day if you are going to be shooting regularly for many years and want to insulate yourself from rising prices buy all you can get when deals present themselves.
If nothing else you can always sell it for what you paid.

Amen to that, we all have different realities and a lot of my friends can't shoot as many rounds as I do. They aren't amateurs for that reason, you have an amateur mentalyty if you think so.

I believe formula for determining the appropriate amount of ammunition to stock is x=2n; where x is how much you should have and n is what you currently have.

I'm not shy...I'll go

well I'm not doing cowboy action anymore,
and I'm to old to run around and play 3gun anymore....
I sold off most of my un used guns and I'm down to a pump shotgun and a cooey bolt action.

have 1 box of 12g and 333rounds of 22 winchester.
not a lot but it will do the job.

more or less.........
