I was under the impression it's ~45 days from when the cc is charged?
That would vary by province as that call would have to be made to the provincial CFO office. Not sure about ON, but I'm in NS and here the provincial CFO extension just goes to an answering service, clearly indicating that they will not entertain status update requests. So I'm left with only being able to call the national CFP call centre, where they only tell you that it's with the provincial CFO office, and to hurry up and wait. - "Call again in a month, maybe it will be done by then"

Yes, I believe that's what the friendly lady at the CFP call centre implied.
I don't know why it would be less than a week for some, 45 days for some, and 45-90 days for others.
Especially if you have a clean record and no boxes ticked. I can understand it taking longer if you have some of the boxes ticked, or a less than perfect history with the law.

How are you guys able to see it's been received? Does that show up on the RCMP site? I sent mine off in November, but nothing has changed, as it just shows my regular pal stuff from 2019. I sent papers for restricted upgrade in November. Thanks for any input!
At the moment it takes about four months from when they receive it for them to charge your CC and for you application to be viewable online. So in your case it should probably happen some time next month, depending on when it was sent and received.
Before that, there's no way to know, unless you sent it with registered mail or some other option with tracking.
Once your CC is charged it will become visible on their website.
Yup. Our fearless leader making us more frustrated by taking alot longer going through the proper process. Meanwhile a new set of regulations coming out soon... Hard to believe its due to covid anymore.
Anyone from October 2nd in Southern Ontario been issued yet? They charged my CC January 26th and it still says processing. No boxes checked and clean criminal record. First time PAL application. Just wondering if this is pretty typical timeline wise.

Received the confirmation on October 14, 2020 (took painfully long)
sent it immediately on October 14, 2020, by registered mail
Received at RCMP on October 23, 2020
Credit card charged Feb 15, 2021, and appeared on Website
Approved on Feb 16, 2021

How does one make sense from the last two posts above?
One applicant CC charged Jan 26, no boxes checked and clean record - still in progress.
Another applicant CC charged a day ago (on a holiday of all things), and approved the very next day.
And not even in different provinces.
Seems like they're very good at handling applications in order received to get them online and charge the payment, but from there it's anyone's guess...
