Maybe it just me but i see some nice guns on EE for good prices and they not selling. Seems like people are afraid to buy again...or im i wrong and nothing really changed?

They can take my guns tomorrow but I have a higher chance of dying in a car accident here in Brampton! Some people live in fear, some don't.

There are several reasons buying habits could be down; job losses, tough times and people are saving more, many ranges were/are closed so there isn’t that drive to buy a new piece and have nowhere to shoot it. I doubt it has anything to do with a fear of a ban. The pre-ban AR craze increased demand and shelves were empty everywhere. This municipal handgun ban business is less likely to fly so should be less likely to stop people from buying. I can see municipalities banning sale of handguns and use (ranges operating within city limits), but a ban on storage and ownership?.. Liberals are reaching with this one.

Hard to know with Justin Trudeau's never ending attack on Canadian firearm owners with his possible new handgun regulations ; or it could just be the economy with many folks losing their jobs , or being forced into reduced work hours . Less disposable income means less spending .

I think things are starting to catch up.
Those that are busy don't have the time and them that ain't don't have the ker-ch$ng.

It's all 'bout cycles.

Buddy,
Take a look at the oil industry, new house builds etc.
Theres your answer.

I own a small Exterior renovation company and I've been off work since January 1.

First time I've not worked the winter months in 20 years.

Employment is low out West, and those that are working are socking away their money.

The oil industry is slow, which in turn kills the construction industry, which in turn kills the wholesale industry, which in turn kills the childcare and daycare industry, then Covid hits and kills everything further.

Couple the economic slow down with the decisions the Liberal government is making and you get a formula of people not wanting to buy something that could very well be banned.

Way to go Eastern Canada. Vote Liberal again.

At times like these, I'm happy to be working for a multi-national frozen food producer. It ain't lucrative but it's pretty reliable!

I don't think it has much to do with the econony...try to post anything non-restricted in 5.56x45 or 7.62x39 that is not on the ban list and see how fast it is gone...economy or not.

There are likely several factors at play here with handguns.
The RPAL pool is not as big and with all these lock downs it is not getting any bigger.

Being that you can only shoot at approved range means, that you will have to join some kind of a waiting list...some are as long as 3+years.

Of course the fact that registration is just a delayed confiscation is playing into the restricted category not thriving too much as well, especially in the context of what is going on right now.

I tend to think the proposed handgun changes will not go through, or the changes will not be nearly as drastic as what they've said so far. AR's were low hanging fruit, there are 10x the amount of handguns out there in the possession of licensed individuals. And the owns also span much wider demographics across the population. It's exactly why they're trying to pass the buck to municipalities, the blow-back would be severe if it came directly from the Liberals. I think slow sales right now is more to do with people tightening the belt more than anything.

The only reason I'm not looking at a new pistol is I just did my taxes. The wife was on the CERB and I went from getting some nice gun money to owing $700 luckily I trust the government less than I trust my cat to watch a steak, so I set some money aside. So it's belt tightening time and Turdo is going to be seeing a lot of unhappy voters who thought the free money was free.

There was a really nice S&W .44 on the EE for a couple of weeks that I had my eye on. I just had to juggle some money around before I could go for it. Of course, by the time I was ready to go the seller had withdrawn the ad. Ah well, life goes on.

I notice the handgun EE or rather all EE sub forums typically really active just prior to Xmas.

On a normal year things really get slow into the new year.
However the economy & the attack on our possessions has kept particularly the handgun EE busy with WTS adds for longer than usual period of time.

I might be able to help you there...in a couple of days I'm going to put all my S&w's and other .44s on EE
