Hi all

I'm just here to say I'm excited for the bear season! I have my CZ527 in 7.62x39 zeroed and good to go. I might get my 6.5x55 involved too!

Anyone else excited?

Since the freezer is mostly empty of wild meat I might give bear a try... I had lots of bear meat in the past but never shot one, never had to! This year might be different!

Opens April 1 in Region 7a in BC. i wont pursue them until the end of april or early may. when i start seeing green grass is when i decide to go looking. its will be the 308 gunsight scout with open sights shooting 180gr trophy bonded tips. or might try the k31 with 180grain interlocks.

Opens here tomorrow, but those of us with experience don't get excited till there's green stuff to be found, around the first of May.

Grizz

I won't even bother looking for bears until the middle of May at the earliest in my neck of the woods. Once there is a good crop of green on the sides of the logging roads..it's go time.

Will be out looking on the 1st but doubt I'll harvest a bear (or 2) until end of April into mid May.

Once the grass and dandelions pop they will be sitting and gorging.

I might pop a BBQ bear the first week of May... but not going for the big one until the sows come into heat in June... a pair of .358's coming along.

I've found the 2nd week of May to offer good opportunities. This year, I am thinking it may be a bit later than that on account of the snow.

well in the forest there is a lot of snow but the soutern slopes maybe green sooner than we hope or think.

16 days and counting.

With the range I usually go to closed to non-members I might go out in early May to target shoot a few rifles with a tag in my pocket, but mid-May to June 15 is my preferred time, skipping the May long weekend though.

Always a great idea to avoid the gong show on the long weekend MD.
With the reduced travel recommendations this years long weekend may be shaping up to be an even bigger gong show of lasts.
Good Hunting All.

Could of had one at the neighbours bird feeder yesterday morning lol! They're slow learners after last years feeders were destroyed!
