KevinB and MikeH's URX Invasion....

I bought an inexpensive railed handguard from Ebay and chopped it slightly to fit my M203 quadrant sight. I'd rather not chop a KAC handguard.

Cut them all, if you ask me. Make it work for what you need it to do. Should have used an angle grinder for the finishing touches.
That's just me however.
I would not call this a "Bubba" job either. Maiking a work gun that will actually be used for "work", not looking good on the range, is what it's all about.
YMMV,
Hoddie.

A piece of metal is a piece of metal... who gives a damn. Obviously he has the necessary resources to obtain KAC stuff and he makes it work for what he needs it to do.

awesome.....cut that bugger..reminds Me when I did your first chop job Kev....keep it up..its all about usage..not looks in the end

I'll be around town near the weekend - we should do coffee...
(I phoned when I was in two weeks ago and it rang and rang)

To be fair you did the first cutjob on the Med/Long FFRAS (that went East) which turned out awesome and gave me incentive to try this one -- I need to clean this up- but happy how it turned out.

Form follows function

why are u switching to the aimpoint and dropping the eotech? Are you getting rid of the S&B as well?

ah #### I see it now, I thought the cuts were done to fit the bipod, not to go over the front sight. nevermind.

Hey toy story... Isn't this what it's all about...

On the Micro T1 Aimpoints a couple of questions if anybody knows the answers...

-Is the height the same as the regular Aimpoints so they co-witness with BUIS?

-Is it a built in Picatinny mount so you dont need a larue?

-is the mount QD?

-Is the lens objective about the same size as the regular aimpoint?

Thanks for any info. I went to the mfg website but the side profile pic doesnt really show much. Also whats the going rate for it>?

I still dont understand? the rail on the rifle is not the same one you cut up, lets see the one you cut up. That rifle does not have the stock FSB so why did you hack up the KAC?

- no it's lower mounted unless you mount it on the Sig CQB then it will co-witness.
- yes
- no need an allen key
- no it's smaller at about 21mm eye view side is 18mm

I have mine mounted on my CQB and works well.

Well the Ebay handguard was only $88 with shipping so I could chop it and modify it for whatever I needed. Why spend a whole lot more to do the same with a KAC?

Spike thanks for the info, do you have any pics you can post for better views? HOw do you like it compared to a regular Aimpoint?

I like the fact it is small and compact. Shooting with both eyes open is best where you look at the target and not focusing on the dot as with any reddot sight . On the Sig I turn the drum to the open notch to gain a full view through the T-1.
It co-witness with the Sig sites.
The view is a bit narrow but you can get use to it.
On other rifles such as the ARs you will have to get a riser to co-witness as the T-1 sits to low.
I'll post some pics later as my camera battery is toast.
