Just wondering what the value range is for a Lee-Enfield .303 No.4 Mk1* 1943 Long Branch , wood has the usual dings nothing terrible , matching numbers , bore is clean, average to good overall . Flip-up rear sight is MkIII

Thanks

With a general description I'll give a general range of $700 to $900. Lots of things will influence this. Generally, you have a mid-war production sample of a sub-model that was economized for mass production during the peak of the war (as you probably already know).

Snowdingo in Post #2 is pretty much right on. Some aspects will drop down from his numbers - a lot to do with what a seller and a buyer might actually know about the rifles. As a No. 4 Mk1*, take a good look at the bolt head dismount slot up near the front receiver ring - has it started to chip or erode yet? If the bolt handle and receiver have the same number, the bolt used to fit properly into the receiver when the military last had it - 1940's?? So, 75 years ago? Since we do not know what it has been up to since then, that relationship could have changed with wear or corrosion. Have the draws been broken by someone removing the fore stock incorrectly? Does the bolt head overclock - by how much? Bore condition? And so on.

The MK III sight on a Mk I might bring the value down. But I'm thinking about 25-30% higher than 250 on it's slowest day.
The OP asked for value, not what you would pay. Long Branch stuff is going up in value...not stagnating.
250 $ is pretty low for any milsurp these days I think. Got to stay with the times man

you guys are all outa touch. if its full wood and bore is good, being its a LB, 1000-1200 is what they go for now. if its a sporter with uncut barrel, bore good and all matching 400 area

I concur. The value isn't 'what I would pay'... try what 'would I ask if I was selling it?'
I'm guessing the lowball prices are not what they would sell it for, LoL
250 $... you got that 50 cents you owe me? LoL

Some photos would help. Is it original and full wood, or cut down and sporterised? If it is sporterised, is the barrel intact or shortened?

...

That is pretty much it! I paid $187 mailed to me within past few weeks from EE, for a sportered Maltby No.4 Mk.1 - miss matched as can be, but checking out fine, every step of the way. I think this is a better, more dependable rifle than a chipped out Long Branch No.4 Mk.1* with number on bolt and receiver that match, but shoulders no longer bear evenly in receiver and a bolt head that severely over-clocks. But that is just me - looking for a dependable "beater" for on my side-by-side ... I like hearing some of the numbers thrown out though - I do have a 1944 Long Branch full wood in the cabinet - apparently gaining value by leaps and bounds!!!

I traded a nice No. 3 for a rode hard Ruger No. 1 last fall... the days of free / next to free LE are gone. Got a LB... it commands more money. Just does...whether we agree with it or not.
My Truck gun is a Ross M-10. Bbl is cut as is the front stock...paid 175 for it 10 or so years ago. I have NO IDEA what it's value would be now... not a clue. But it's more than 175 bucks...if I wanted to sell it, which I don't.
Might even see about feeding it this aft. Ran a few 285 grain pills through the 146 this morning... can't understand folks who distain recoil. A gun with no recoil is like a Demure Woman... no fun at all.

A sported Enfield, regardless of maker, is nowhere near the value of a full wood military one. I wouldn't ask OR pay $400 for a sporter, especially when I can go to my LGS and buy them for a couple of hundred on any Saturday. Maybe that's just my neighbourhood, and my LGS really is most guys idea of milsurp heaven, but there's no one price for any gun, it varies from one place to the next. If you're looking for a reasonable price on an LE clearly "Buffalo Republic" and "Pallisers Triangle" are places you might want to skip.

Well they are importing ones missing small parts that are not long branch and are advertised as gun smith specials and have the barrel laser engraved with import marks for $700

It’s what ever somebody is willing to pay for it, have seen them go for a low 400 clams to over 1400 on a few auctions. Since the interest in these rifles has skyrocketed in the last few years with a lot of people buying up the sporters and replacing the wood with repro stuff and selling them for a profit, heck even the cut down sporters have gone from the low 100 to over 300 lately. Last few I saw at gun shows were mismatched all to pieces with shot out barrels commanding over 1000 and they were selling.
