Now that this years Big Game hunt is winding down anyone making plans for hunting trips in the new year?

I'm going to Colorado for an Elk hunt.My brothers boss bought a 5 bedroom ranch house out there, with a spread of land that he can use so the plans are a brewing.
I am also planning a Newfoundland moose hunt.A new guy(a Newfie) in our deer gang this year has given four of us an invite to hunt the rock.It doesn't get better than that.

The down side is I gotta sell stuff to cash up for the trips.

Planning on my first hunt for the 2008 deer season. Going to go for WT down south of Calgary. Would like to go for swamp donkey, but I think it'll have to wait a couple years.

If things play out right, 2008 will involve a non-trophy sheep hunt followed by the Cypress Hills elk hunt.

2009 will be the next big adventure -- a 10-day hunt in the Talkeetna mountains of Alaska for interior grizzly.

2010 will be something close to home -- deer and/or moose, I suspect.

2011 will hopefully be a leopard/cape buffalo/plainsgame hunt in Zimbabwe. Am midway through the process of booking it.

I figure planning 4 years ahead is far enough! :)

Invited to go to Texas in the spring for a pig hunt.

Hoepfully a bear hunt with "bone-collector and "Foxer"

Guiding for Black Bear in the Queen Charlottes or another bear hunt with "crazy_davey"

Hopefully an elk hunt with "riden" in September

Moose guiding in late September

Moose and mulie in November with James

well, 2007 ain't over yet. but i will play:

assuming my usual level of (low) success in the LEH it will be the same as usual - in bc; elk, whitetail, muley, sheep, and maybe a trip for goat. in alberta should get drawn for a good muley tag and probably go for whitetail as well.

one of these times going to get drawn for a shiras moose tag. maybe next year is it.

Last 2 weeks of Sept will be Moose Hunting in Newfoundland area 04 Taylor's Brook, and mostl likely 3 sets of tags to fill.

Second week in Oct will be Moose hunting north of Nakina, Ontario WMU 17.

First week of rifle Deer hunting near Bracebridge, WMU 53A.

Already buying new toys for next year. Picking up a 2008 7X16 enclosed trailer next week, and filling it with 2 ATV's before Xmas. New 6500 Watt generator and second hand deep freeze will most likly come before xmas also :)

Can't wait for fall of 2008!

More deer for sure!!! Still need to thin-out the population in Ontario and fill the freezer too!!:D!!

As has been said, the year isn't over yet....and LOTS of small game hunting opportunities ahead this winter.

A James Bay Caribou hunt is in the future plans - not sure when - need something to look forward to....

Wolf hunting with Noel in Jan or Feb if things work out
Spring bear
Sheep in Early Sept
Elk and Deer till the end of Nov

Maybe Antelope or Moose but that will be a spring decision.

Well I have plans in the works for plots on my property that should attract both mulies and whitetail.

I am up for an early season moose tag next year, and moose hunting always comes first in my house.

Likely do some spring bear hunting/watching.

Hoping an elk hunt with Huntinstuff pans out, never have hunted elk.

hopefully get some bear hunting in, while i would love to do a grizz hunt but that wont be happening for another couple of years.

If I am still here in Alberta, I want to connect on a moose. I will be high enough priority to get a tag somwhere close, I think. Found some decent moose pasture near home, if I don't get drawn, and I'll try with the bow again.

I would be absolutely thrilled to hook up on a decent WT buck, with the bow.

Dunno if I'll be here or in BC, though. Wait and see.

If BC, gonna try a mulie with the bow. Dunno if I'll be able to weasel away for enough time otherwise.

Cheers
Trev
