Annealing - Has anyone made their own set up ?

The idea of setting cases in a pan of water on a table and doing laps around the table is not what I have in mind.
The latest and greatest "AMP" machine is on most everyone's wish/dream list. For most though it is not very likely it fits in their budget perfectly.
I have been on YouTube getting ideas on what to make. It should be leaning towards the simplistic side of centre, giving uniform results, and be as ergonomic as possible, without being over complicated to built.

One aspect of annealing that I don't seem to see much of now is, quenching in water immediately after the annealing is finished. Why is that ?

I am interested in how others have achieved good results with their ingenuity.

I have the salt bath kit. Its a cost effective way to get into it. Lots of arguments about it being affective. I have a long list of things I would buy before an AMP. For my use, the salt has been great and I can definitely tell a difference after annealing. My buddy tried it and liked it enough to get his own setup as well.

i made my own idid some trial and error stuff with micro wave turn table etc to much to type in the end it works great send me a note so we could talk on the telly if you want don
 
I've been working on a home brew induction annealer. I hooked up my solid state relay wrong though and roasted it, so now I've got to do a bit more work to it before I can get it sorted out. It's controlled by an Arduino and everything is jammed into an old computer case.

I made a wood 2x4 one, dual torch, 20lb propane bottle, drill and deep sockets, metronome timer on my phone. Works great, cost was only the gas hoses and one new torch head. Slide the drill forward to a stop, repeat after 5 seconds.

There are induction heaters used in the automotive repair industry. They are very costly. One or more? of the videos, I had watched on YouTube, stated it would only work with ferrous metals ? Not sure if that is correct or not ?

Here is my setup which is a modified version from a Youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLRgDZeYQ-M
Instead of controlling the induction timing by powering the unit on/off, mine control it by the using the unit on/off switch through a relay timer which gives accuracy to .001 sec.
It took 2.85sec for .308 and 3.85sec for 6.5PRC casing. Here are the major components from Amazon.

I am very limited for space currently, that's one of the reasons the salt bath one really appealed to me.

Edit - that induction one unic made is super interesting!

For an induction heater to work the metal just has to be electrically conductive. Mine will have a 308 case glowing in about 4.5 seconds. I have to rewire my new solid state relay and then I can start working on getting it dialled in. I'm into it for somewhere around $250-$300 and a few days work. More than half the cost was the 1200 watt power supply to run the induction heater board, but that's way overkill. Could easily get away with a 600 watt one. There's an awesome thread on snipers hide about building induction ones, I got most of my info from there.

I use a cordless drill , appropriate size socket and a torch . Heat UNTILL color changes in dim light .
About 5-7 seconds each then dump on a rubber mat by my feet

Not sure whether to thank you or not! Another project! I have been thinking of something similar. The red switch. Is that out of the unit or is that a add on?

Would it be worth adding a relay?

After farting around with the salt bath. It rotted my lee pot out. This looks to be way more accurate and more efficient.
