Alberta Big Game Draws are available starting June 1st to June 24th.
I'm eligible for Trophy Buck Antelope and my son for Trophy Mule Deer Buck, both of us have a 100% chance of being drawn.
It will be a busy October and November with draws and our annual whitetail hunt.

Thanks for the reminder.
Don't think I have enough priority for moose this year and used my antlered Mule deer draw last year but managed to get a decent buck in 406.
Anyone know what is happening with the Camp Wainwright hunt this year? If I recall correctly they didn't let anyone hunt on the base last year did they?

That is a very good question, regarding Camp Wainwright. I can only suspect that something will be mentioned with Alberta RELM, once the draws are on-line. I won't even take a shot in the dark, pun intended, on what decision the Federal Government/Military concludes. I know my son and I are eligible with enough priority points for the first rifle season, maybe next year.

100% chance is pretty good

When successful with the draw, that's when I find the time very long, the waiting period. Despite our great fortunes in Alberta to have a diversity of big game, my favorite animal to hunt is the mature whitetail buck!

Am I privileged to know why this many be my last Alberta Trophy Pronghorn hunt?

Unless you are able to use an outfitters allocation, this will be your last trophy hunt.

There are 41,000 people in the trophy antelope draw code. Residents and non-residents. On a good year they give out 1000 tags. So anyone entering the draw code today with no priority, and no further increase in applicants, needs to wait ~40 years.

Last year you needed an P11 to draw. This year, a 12 or 13. Draw creep.

When applicants apply, most 999 their draw, knowing that they cannot be awarded until that magic 10 priority arrives. If my math is correct, it will be 10 to 11 years before a person is eligible. Two main problems with the antelope: 1. Many migrated to Montana, and remained because of harsh winters. 2) This country and province is becoming OVER POPULATED WITH THE HUMAN SPECIES!

This will be my first year. Looking forward to getting out. Thankfully I have a lot of patient friends that are will to take me out.

I’ll have my fingers crossed for you track. Hopefully the 41,000 applicants ahead of you for the next trophy hunt stop applying.

As it stands at this moment and time, there are 125 applicants who are eligible with priority 10, for 200 tags, in the zone where I apply. These are according to last year summary statics. Your math is different from mine..............oh I know, I'm from the old school arithmetic.Laugh2

Poor little buggers, that makes me very sad, I truly love those little creatures. First I "herd", (pun not intended) of this. Saskatchewan cannot seem to get the break for antelope. They had high mortality winters kills and many migrated to Montana. I experienced the good old days in the 1970's, heard's of 500 to 700 were common throughout southern Alberta.
Well, lets just hope that these incidents are rare, these little critters require a grand come-back.
I will not wait another 10 to 15 years. My plans are to complete the necessary federal (ATF) paperwork and hunt Montana for speed goats.
