It may not be a competitive wage, but the thing is, we have choice. If 22/hr is not enough for you, don't apply. When they receive 0 applications I am sure something will be done.

Another thing to keep in mind is that they may not be able to afford any more. Yea it sucks, but they aren't a big trucking company.

I pay my truck drivers 30/ hr and I'm certainly not the highest in the area by any means.

Are you serious 30 an hr for truck driver he’ll I run dozer loader excavator float heavy equipment over dimensional loads and it took me years to make 30 an hr mind you there a bunch of cheap ########ers in my area

I could see 22$ an hour for a "gunsmith in training" , as in a newbie starting out and being taught the trade, but for a full blown licensed gunsmith, who does milling, lathe work, etc etc etc I definitely agree with everyone else, that's a little low.

Heck BC just raised their minimum wage to $15.20 as of today

Not sure why all the hate?
Starting level, show yer werth............wartcher grow.

Most big corps only offer part time work.
Iff'in you can't figure this out, go push buggies.

No the issue is you make more money as a fresh outta school apprentice or a broom pusher in a sawmill. I sure hope no tradesman devalues himself enough to work for piss. Especially in a city so expensive.

Theyre showing their worth by getting jobs for 10 more an hour elsewhere. Which is why its still vacant.

You’re arguing that you're a long time experienced professional, and yet inflation is apparently confusing and new to you?

The ad clearly says "From $22.00 an hour."

To me that means the salary range starts at $22.00 for lesser qualified applicants. $22.00 an hour is close to second year apprentice rate in most trades. So I would say that's a fair place to start.

The salary indication is the worst thing about posting a job on Indeed as it doesnt allow you to skip it or put in a range.

I have over 20 years experience I understand inflation but the companies in northern Ontario have agreements to not hire the other companies men so we’re kinda ####ed here I don’t know how many times I told employers to pound sand but they still call me wanting me back last few years I said screw it iam away from home anyways so started working in Toronto where they step up and pay decent wages

When I finished college in 2014. A non red seal industrial diesel mechanic, made no more than 17$/HR

DND when you're medically released, says to be gainfully employed you needed to make 66 2/3% of your salary. As a Cpl, it was determined I needed to make 20.30/hr

Well obviously the market is flooded by so many qualified candidates they can afford to lowball. Janitors at the school board make more, with benefits. Just wrote Korth off my list. Linda was right, you guys are pr1k5!
