You might actually be on to something there. They might want to use it to get people into their store, hoping they'll buy something other than ammo on their way in/out.

It would explain why they're not exactly being helpful on the phone, or letting you order just the ammo...

Technically a case of .223 is 1000 rounds so they were correct, they don't have that. They had 10 boxes which happened to be in a bigger box and sold it for $60 bucks. I called this afternoon and they said he had about 10 cases left, aka 2000 rounds but I am sure most of it is gone by now.
 
Is it normal that this Remington UMC leave my chamber very very dirty?

It actually look like brass partticules and it's all over the place.

As for dirty chambers - I have had umc cases crack in the chamber - as if the odd one has to thin brass. But I have shot .22 cal. groups (3 rds. 100 yds) with it - out of an H+R heavy barrel
 
So, does Bass Pro sell centrefire handgun ammo? I've called them, and they say they don't sell pistol ammo, even though it's listed on the web site.

If you call and get a person with a middle-eastern sounding accent either hangup and call back or ask to talk to someone else.................Saves a whole lot of headaches.
 
I never fired UMC so I can't comment on it. So far I have been hoarding bullets for reloading as of today I have.

3.5k of 77 grain SMK
1k of 55 grain Hornady

More inbound.
 
out in here flatlands, we never find these deals.

so we are trained for zombies with single shots to the head, and they should drop even if it was .22 cal. shot placement!!!

just kidding, and jealous of the deals you guys get in the major centre, not enough to be green with envy, because i could then be mistaken for a zombie.

Bass Pro is selling .223 Remington UMC 55gr again for $5.79/box.

Just picked up 600 rounds today.

Apparently prices in .223 are expected to go up soon (if they havent already, in your area). Believe that salesman line or not, you cant go wrong with that price.

I was in there today and did not even look.....I did get some cool Under Armor digi camo gloves!!!(like a multi can digi)

(looks like they started with 85 cases on friday (this past friday))

That Bass Pro Shop in Vaughan employs utter morons BTW. Service sucks.
Huge gun sale a few weeks back and over a dozen people waiting at the gun counter for over 30 minutes waiting for one of the three bass pro guys working the counter. After 30 minutes they STILL hadn't moved onto any other customers.

They pretty much ditched the entire reloading supplies side (unless you like Black Powder/Muzzle loaders). I find their prices high myself..
