I am looking at purchasing the upcoming restricted M10X with a 12 inch barrel. I want to get some actual feedback from recent M10X owners. I watched the Military Arms Channel review and was not impressed, but I know products can improve and lemons exist.
Who has shot more than 1000 rounds and what kind of reliability are you achieving?? I don't care for the opinions of those who haven't owned or shot the rifle. Thanks for chiming in:)

This is exactly what concerns me, I started a separate thread asking if M10Xs have improved and are now reliable and so far it's been absolute silence

It's such a mixed bag that other than 2-3 guys on CGN and Black bear outdoors I can't find any positive feedback.....

If you own or owned a recent m10x please comment your experience with said platform. Thanks

And the online reviews are also so varied.

I genuinely mean it when I say I truly want to love this rifle. But with 7.62x39 uppers for a Canadian made (and therefore in country supported) series of rifles (WK180C, WS-MCR) which can accept 10 round pistol mags plus Cross Mags 10+10 mags its really hard for me to justify spending significantly more on a more limited rifle even before the issues come into play.

Of course if the mag limitations were not an issue then I'd be more comfortable.

Having had one, and ultimately selling it, think you're better of getting a fixed stock t81 instead.
Disclaimer I didn't shoot 1000s of rounds with it but didn't take that many to decide was time to move on.

I bought one last month and it has been a nightmare. The rifle will not reliably feed from any magazines I use. There are constant failure to feed and double feeds. It is probably a bolt carrier issue. I am emailing North Sylva for warranty support. Stick to type 81s or SKS for your own good.

You should put up a detailed thread about your experience, I can't help but think reviewers get "special" ones lol

Every time I insert a 5 round magazine and chamber the first round, the gun fires the first shot but on the second round, I hear a click and have a failure to fire or chamber. So I have rack it again to fire, then on rounds 3-5, I have constant double feeds with two bullets jamming the chamber area constantly which requires constant magazine removals to shake out the stuck double fed rounds. This occurs with Xtech mags and US palm mags. Can anyone tell me if I need a new bolt carrier group? I am pretty sure it is not a magazine issue since they are brand new.

There was a thread on CGN with the same question within the last year. If you do a search, you'll avoid it with prejudice.

Is it possible that the rifle is short stroking just enough to cycle but not fully #### the hammer?

I can't suggest a fix for the double feeds

Which version is yours - short handguard or long handguard?

Why folks keep insisting on wasting money on this piece of trash is beyond me. I mean: it would be like buying a Yugo, even with everything we know about Yugos.

I already posted it in two other threads.

I have a long hand-guard one. Which is different from the short. Like mine takes AK grips without mods, also feeds reliably from Chinese, Croatian and P-mags.

It is sensitive to the ammo due to a tight "DMR" chamber. With chinese white box ammo I was getting stuck cases. Russian Barnaul fed 1000 rounds with no problems. No wear on the bolt or BCG problems, like other people reported. So it must be ammo. There is so much different quality ammo in 7.62x39.

My personal opinion. 1st gen is over-gassed on dirty setting, so with problems on normal people switch to dirty and that beats up the rifle.

DMR trigger is nice, but can do double taps, so not a good thing.

The alternative to it is T81, which is a "chinese lottery", if you get a 4MOA one it's a keeper. I'd go with WS-MCR, not a faultless rifle either, but it's fixable.

I also wanted to like this gun, as I'm a life long 7.62x39 guy...but I'm glad I did my research before sinking 2 grand into what is commonly reffered to as a "boat anchor".

The idea looks great on paper, but the chance of it turning into a drawn out warranty/spare parts nightmare is pretty high, as most of the complaints have a common theme, which is consistent with bad engineering and/or lack of quality controll.

You could roll the dice and possibly get the good one that eats all the ammo, works with all the mags and the charging handle won't fly off...etc.
But if you get the bad one, you are pretty much stucked with it...it would not be ethical to dump it on unsuspecting buyer and if you disclose the issues, you will get the price of scrap.
Being that the one you are looking at is classed as restricted, it will further shrink the pool of potential buyers as most people preffer to spend $ on the NR class knowing that if they get banned, at least they won't have to turn them in.

You need to ask yourself how lucky do you feel?
If I was in your position, I would just get a Type 81 and call it a day, no matter how cool the M+M might look (and yes it does look really nice)

One additional factor is that TIs optic rail Mount will finally ready within two weeks. Combine that with their new slant break, and their free shipping and drum mag sale, the Type 81 becomes an even better alternative.

Kodiak just started shipping 7.62x39 mm WKs to compete against the MCR. If you request one built with the steel upper, it will come with a non-screw in charging handle, which should not break. You can get an adjustable gas block for the WK and MCR to tune the gas system for minimum stress with your ammo of choice.

Finally, the new firearm in town, the J180, has just begun its shipping journey from Jard to its Canadian distributor, Sylvestre. You can use the build kit in concert with AR parts to make a novel firearm that impinges an AR180 style recoil system with direct gas impingement. One of bolt faces available with the kit supports 7.62x39 mm.
