So I was out shooting my Gen 2 Beretta 1301 Tactical the other day. This was only the second time I was able to get it out since buying it. I have put approx. 50 rounds of birdshot and 10 slugs through it thus far. After shooting a few rounds I looked down at the shotgun and saw the edge of the forend sticking out away from the receiver. I knew this was a sign of something broken so I put the gun away and shot others I had with me. Upon disassembly at home, I found the locating tab on the forend that interfaces with the receiver was broken off on one side. I have a call into Stoeger Canada (I had to leave a message) inquiring about warranty replacement of the forend. I'll update this thread with the results.

Stoeger returned my call this afternoon, a new forend should be in the mail by the end of the week. If that holds true it will be one of the best and easiest warranty experiences I've had to date. Emailed me a shipping label so I can send the broken one back too. He made a comment about user error, but I don't see how that could be possible. Whatever, a new one is en route.

I got a very pleasant and welcoming return call and email as well. Trouble getting a working return label but after several days and several trips to the post office with invalid codes they sent one that worked. I returned the product and then they refused to send a replacement. Hope you luck is better than mine

I like to deal with Al Flaherty's they can get the same parts that Stoeger can at times parts that Stoeger hasn't got and AF is cheaper.

Customer service is lacking from this company. Seems to be a regular thing these days from Stoeger.

Anyone buying these guns, make sure you inspect the product in person before you buy it, and don't expect warranty work after the sale.

Than complain to Beretta USA.

What's been your xp AB. And issues of the box? Fit and finish acceptable.

No issues what so ever, my iron was loose too. The most important thing to remember is that part of the sight is designed to removed and a "breakpoint".

Nothing equally thick "shims" on either side or the ends of the iron won't fix. Lol, no wonder Stoeger isn't getting back to him.

The front sight is not centred. The hole is drilled off centre to the barrel. Shims will not correct it, obviously you do not understand the problem.

Your right I don't understand, but then again I'm not using my tactical shotgun as a precision rifle. Good luck.

He's not happy with his shotgun because the front sight is crooked. I don't see how this is hard to understand, this is not a cheap shotgun. I don't think it's right to discount the negative experiences of others, even if your experience has been 100% positive.

But you are running a red dot on yours in the 1301 setup thread though. So I don’t get your precision rifle comment. I want a front sight installed correctly, not much to ask for I don’t think.
