Best non-res SHTF gun?

Hey all,
Last thread pretty much crowned the AR. Now, let's try it again with one BIG restraint : Which one do you consider as the ultimate SHTF non-restricted ? My heart goes to the PE-90, but weight might make it somewhat less desirable. Let's hear ya!!

SKS hands down. Ride her hard, put her away wet, let her rust, she just doesn't care a keeps right on trucking. Not the most powerful, or accurate rifle in the world, but that thing just refuses to die. Second choice would be a Remington 870 in 12ga, eats the world's most versatile ammo can can be reloaded for if you need "custom" ammo for her. 3rd would be an Enfield in whatever flavor floats your boat.

The SKS is about as tough as an AK . Those commies know how to build a good gun . If I had a choice I would have a XCR .

Well, we all know SHTF might happen anytime. I'm on the road ALL the time, often over 100 km away from home, and since I'm changing adress pretty often, restricted are more of a pain in the ass than anything else... So something you can have with you all the time is kinda nice.

I'd probably want some lame-o .22LR. More than enough ammo around to last till doomsday.

I think the Tavor is going to be a pretty cool option. When I had it I fired 500+ rounds through it no problems.

It's on the top of my list for a non-rest black rifle

Most economical would be the AR 180b for magazines, parts and ammo compatibility.

SKS, possibly the "Vz-58l" but I don't think it can compete with the SKS reliability wise (it's advantage is the 30 round mags).

So far, my Vz58L, but if I had a Tavor or even an XCR, I may take one of those over the Vz... hard to say without trying one.

It does in the sense that in the case of a SHTF scenario our dear old Government would immediately seize all the restricted and prohibited firearms they know of, while leaving the subsitance hunters (who use non-restricted firearms, and those who own "antiques" not in the books) relatively alone .... That's me theory anyway.

...... never mind, I got it. #### hits the fun. I think anything in 9mm cuz #### will hit the fun mostly in urban areas. Something homebrew in 9mm that doesn't exist in any books. Loads of ammo. Scorpion was on my mind, tweaked to full auto, like somebody said - in SHTF situation regs will probably mean nothing, or maybe you will be way outside the law anyway.
