Coyote defense thread anyone?

Or whatever is behind the seat of my truck.;)

No guns?

Isn't Canmore in the Park, where guns are not allowed? No guns and a city full of tree huggers, what took the coyotes so long to figure it out?

If two strong skaters could catch a yote on a big enough pond it could be lots of fun... for the skaters.

Maybe one of these cute little buggers (that's what they call'em in Canmore) got into one of the hippie's stash & simply got the munchies.

Hey - they had a problem with crack squirrels in New York, I don't see coyote munchies as being too far from the mark.

I personally see this as nature's way of controlling the yuppie population. While the full grown urban yuppie posseses adequate hand eye coordination to scald a coyote into retreat with his or her grande mocha-latte, their offspring are often too unused to any environment lacking carpets and soft lighting to maintain a grasp on their blackberry/psp and fend off a coyote attack at the same time.

I've got an older brother that fits into this catagory, (bless him), not in Canmore But Calgary. I'm pretty sure him, his wife & two boys would probably adopt the coyote. The wife would spend God only knows how much money in rehabilation. The boy's would fall in love with it, as they stiched each other up. Forget to feed it, walk it & forget all about in about week. Then the Brother would take it back into the forest (after its rehab). But on his way he'd stop by Starbucks (one for the road) & the darn thing would escape somewhere downtown. Last seen with a mocha-latte sh#@t eatting grin.

Time to lay down some lead on these vermin. Maybe the #### head liberals will wake up when kids start getting bitten.

Even the Coyotes are better in Alberta. Mind you the NDP have only been gone for a short whike and I'm sure things will improve.

Saskatoon warned about mangy coyote

Saskatoon police are warning people about a sickly coyote that has been spotted in the city.

The Saskatoon coyote is of particular concern, officials say, because
it's believed to have mange, a skin condition caused by mites that could make the animal especially unpredictable.

Several people called police Tuesday after seeing the coyote near the Marquis stables, in Diefenbaker Park and along the riverbank trails in the area.

Officials say people should be careful and call police if they see the animal.

It's not that unusual to spot coyotes in Saskatchewan, but usually the sightings are in rural areas.

Saskatoon was also the scene of several cougar sightings earlier in the year.

Hmmm, I thought them fat donought fed, Xbox duelling kids were bigger than 'yotes anyways? Flame suit on.....:50cal:

Not no more:

But 23-year resident Val Norman said coyotes this year look bigger than usual.

According to Val, they are at least 500 pounds, bullet proof and the size of a pick up truck. Last year, they were only the size of Datsun. :p

Imagine ... wild animals in conflict with people near a town just below a huge National Park (and wildlife refuge ... no guns - no hunting) in the Rocky Mountains ! Why would anyone wnat to live in such a dangerous place ?

Poor yotes! It's Canmore fellas! In all likely hood some THC soaked chairlift operator has been breeding his 1/2 malmute 1/2 Australian Cattle dog with his dealeres 1/4 Husky 1/4 shepard 1/2 Rotti and one of the resulting dogs got loose and was trying to play with some kids. I was up there this summer and heard a life long resident gushing about how she just loved to wake up and see the Elk out back each morning. My eldest flattly told her;

"Those are White Tail."

Of Course, Canmore has probably the highest population of Yuppies who just want to "get closer to nature"...

Correct. Canmore is a gorgeous mountain town, but full of wealthy Calgary yuppies. There's been a bear - garbage problem in Canmore for years.

The town is also absolutely polluted with rabbits... I'm surprised a yote would feel compelled to attack kids. Rabbits are much tastier LOL

The locals were in an uproar when someone suggested some of the rabbits be killed to control the population :jerkit:
