None of these stores carry KNO3 in any form but liquid or gel. Useless...

I ended up going to a garden center that would only sell it in aqueous solution, tap water from the city. So I asked if they would be able to mix it into distilled water if I brought my own, and they did. They had the dry powder product, just weren't allowed to sell dry powder in any way.

Home hardware does

No it does not. It has been discontinued for at least 20 years now, at least here in Ontario. If you have a link to an actual product that HH lists as 'Stump Remover' in crystal form please post it, other vise stop spreading disinformation.
Maybe there is a slight chance that some stores somewhere rural still may have some on the shelf but that is a lot of driving around to find out.

You can buy it in nova scotia at home hardware. Ive done it my self less then 3 years ago any will order it in if they dont stock it.. Thats too bad about Ontario though

That's funny...you're the only one spreading MISINFORMATION. I just bought it...try using Google or get out of your mom's basement and go check. It's on the shelf.

They will order as much as you want. This guy is spewing info he has no idea on. Troll who needs to go away.

Great thread! I have some Super Blue and some of whatever Ballistol's product is, but also considering either getting a spray gun and some Cerakote or trying some other aerosol product on an old Stevens.

Currently prepping the metal, wet-sanded with 1500 grit but maybe moving up to 2000. Just trying to deal with prepping all the small parts. I think I'll run them in my tumbler and see how they come out. I've also got some excess threads to file a little and need to deal with lots of nooks and crannies to get the surface just right. So we'll see how that all goes.

You are doing great work! Please keep this thread going with your success and failures. I learn a great deal from exchanges like this.
